My first time processing a turkey. They say it gets easier over time; I believe that but it's still very new to me. I wanted to do it the most humane way possible (please let me know if there is a better way) It seemed to me to take a little long but what you can't see on the video is his eyes, he was gone before his body stopped. Doing it the way I did really gets you more in touch with things and the appreciation for the bird.
Scalding the bird was definitely way way easier than dry plucking and did not take as long as I thought.
Cleaning/butchering was by far the hardest for me. I did not film it because I was watching a RU-vid video trying to figure it out! I made several mistakes like cutting below the breast to enter the cavity....ugh and breaking the crop open and feeding the day of!!!!! It's not so simple when you have your hands in the bird feeling around trying to pull out the right things!
I hope to get a detailed cleaning video out as soon as I get more familiar with the innards of the bird!!!!!
