Tank units, which are among the most important elements of the Turkish Armed Forces' (TAF) land force, remain ready for duty 24/7 with the trainings they receive and the drills they carry out.
The ‘Tank School Command’, which serves under the Land Forces Command, provides basic courses, professional development courses and specialisation courses on tanks for officers, reserve officers, non-commissioned officers, reserve non-commissioned officers and specialised non-commissioned officers within the scope of the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces.
In addition to being trained in tank simulators, trainees are also subjected to simulator-supported command post exercises at battalion task force level, and in this context, they participate in experience exercises to improve their capabilities such as driving, shooting, endurance and manoeuvring in the field with real tanks.
Following the completion of tactical and technical training for officer and non-commissioned officer trainees who will lead and manage tanks, which are the decision weapon of the commander on the battlefield, trainees graduate as tank commanders, section commanders and platoon commanders.
In addition, specialised privates and contracted privates are also graduated as tank crew members after the tactical and technical training they receive.
