✅Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for the dough)
3/4 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
Extra flour for dusting
Extra oil for cooking
2tbsp of sugar
✅Equipments
💎Rolling pin
💎Chopping board
💎pan
💎knife
💎spoon
✅Instructions:
💎Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, turmeric powder, sugar and salt. Mix well.
💎Add Wet Ingredients:
Make a well in the center and add the vegetable oil.
Gradually add the warm water, mixing with your hands or a spoon until a soft dough forms.
💎Knead the Dough:
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes. To prevent it from drying, allow gluten to relax so as to make it tight and elastic, and also enhances a good texture.
💎Divide the Dough:
After resting, divide the dough into equal portions (about 10-12 balls).
💎Roll Out the Dough:
On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin circle. Brush lightly with oil, then sprinkle a little flour on top.
💎Create Layers:
Fold the circle into a half, then again into a quarter. Roll it out again into a thin circle. This process creates the layers in the chapati.
💎Cook the Chapati:
Heat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Place the rolled-out chapati on the pan and cook until you see bubbles forming on the surface. Flip and cook the other side, applying a little oil or ghee if desired. Cook until both sides are golden brown and slightly crispy.
💎Serve:
Serve the chapatis hot with your favorite curry or dip.
