Thank you for your kind comment. The Threshold by Path can also be applied to posterization boundaries. I'm glad if it helped you in some way. Thank you!
Exactly what I was looking for - thanks so much! The best solution to smoothing threshold I'd found prior to this was blurring and then adjusting curves or levels to resharpen the edges, but detail is lost via that method. This, on the other hand, works perfectly!
This video's transitions and stuff were a little too long for me so I had to watch at 1.5x speed, but great and informative nonetheless! Very easy instructions, and it's great that you explain what certain features can do. Thank you!
Thank you for your feedback. I have a lot to explain, but I've found that many of you commenters prefer short videos. It is difficult to achieve both clarification and simplification, but I would like to try to achieve it. Many thanks!
In the Layers panel, Select [Color Fill]. [File]-[Export]-[Paths to Illustrator]. However, this only exports the path. The copy-and-paste method is faster. For example, for versatility, you can save the document in which you created the Work Path in JPEG format.
Everything I get with this technique yields a negative image. Layer one becomes a negative image. This may reflect changes to the software with Photoshop 2022? I can invert that with an adjustment layer and move on. We'll see how that works.
I confirmed in Photoshop 2022. You should check the following operations. 03:54 In [Color Range], turn on [Invert]. 05:28 In [Color Range], turn off [Invert]. These operations are for preview purposes, and Color Range makes a selection in the white area. I hope you will go well.
I am going to try your technique and thank you for sharing your video. What is the resolution set for at 3:02 and how big can this b&w image be scaled for printing?
There is no limit to the scaling of the image after it is completed. Because it's a vector image built with Path. Therefore, setting 300 pixels/inch, which is the resolution for printing, does not cause any problem. You should be careful about color mode conversion. Thank you!
I've had questions similar to yours. If your operation is correct, I think it's a bug. It seems to happen in version CS6. What version of Photoshop are you using? There is also a comment that it worked fine after reinstalling Photoshop. I hope you will go well.
Thank you for your kind comment. Could it be that...? Isn't the material you chose missing a shadow area? As [Fuzziness] in [Color Range] approaches 0%, the gradation level decreases.
Since it will be difficult at low resolutions, why not try upsampling? Preserve Details 2.0 enables highly accurate upsampling. For example, even a 1600% enlargement would give good results. I hope you will go well.
@@psgips tried upsampling but I really didnt see any dramatic effect with these screenshots from a youtube video. Like for example applying oil paint filter has virtually no effect I guess because not enough detail to find the contrast areas. Not sure.
@@KeyIntelMedia Even a slight difference in gradation can be divided into black and white. Because there are 256 levels of grayscale. If the detail is not appropriate, the only thing you can do is change the subject material itself. I hope you will go well.
Thank you for your kind comment. Sure, the technique is important, but the expression is more important and difficult. That's the problem. I hope you will go well.
Thank you for your kind comment. It's okay to rasterize. However, do so only after you have sized it for the finished product. That's because rasterization determines the current number of pixels. Alternatively, you can save the vector as the original file in PSD format and then output it in rasters such as JPEG format or PNG format.
My prediction is that it's already a defined state. You should check [Shadows] again. If all settings are correct, the [Fuzziness] and [Range] input boxes will be active. Thank you!
Thank you very much for inquiring. What is the "Halima sultan" you refer to? The material images used in this video can be downloaded from the following URL. photo by Free-Photos pixabay.com/ja/photos/男-男性-探している-人-918576/ psgips.net/photoshop-tutorials/threshold-by-path
I like the "effect" created here but without vocals and the video running so fast, impossible for me to determine exactly how this was created. I can follow some of it but not all of it.
Thank you for your feedback. It was really helpful. I will continue to aim for useful techniques. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Thank you!
@@psgips Yes please I do have a question. (I am using PSCS6 on an iMac running OSX 10.11.6) When I choose Color Range and then select "Shadows" both, the Fuzziness and Range sliders become greyed out and unusable. Can you explain why this is occurring? Thank you much. Roger
Thank you for your reply. I've had questions similar to yours. I'm not in an environment to boot CS 6. I'm not sure if this information is reliable... Right after [Select] - [Color Range], remove the [Detect Faces] and [Localized Color Clusters] checkbox.
@@psgips Appreciate the reply but 'no' that doesn't solve problem. Also, I made sure I was working in RGB color space and tried both, 8-bit and 16-bit. Honestly, I have never, even after 27 years of working in Photoshop, had any success when using the Color Range filter. Thanks much anyway.
I found the following article in the Photoshop Forum. The operation guarantee for CS 6 ends at 10.9. Bugs in Photoshop may be resolved by resetting Preferences. I hope it goes well.
Exactly. A one minute job is edited into so unnecessary clips and steps and shit. Huge pain the in ass. I l also played it in 2x. But still painful to get through.
Great tutorial man, I really appreciate it, I was able to accomplish my objective creating the vector image, although is very well explained, I might suggest to minimize the steps intro. But anyway, great job! ✌😎👍.
Thank you for your kind comment. I hope you will find it useful. Thank you for your feedback. I will try to minimize the steps intro in the future. Many thanks!
This tutorial is dope! Short video just as I like since I don't want super long, boring, PS videos but very informative and gives me what I wanted to learn. I also love the sound effects you use, reminds me of retro arcade games, very relaxing and nostalgic. You have my like and my sub, awesome content!

The [Fuzziness] and [Range] greyed out after you set [Shadows]? It's at 03:30 in the video. If you set [Highlights] or [Midtones] and it is grayed out, it is probably an error. I hope you will go well.
From what I can see - you can only adjust the settings if you are using photoshop Cc. Idk why you can see the options in earlier versions - confusing..
