@@MantimeHustle And positive training aka treats doesn't do much. If they feel like it is a presa's attitude in regards to most things treats or not. Me and my presa have come to an understanding, and it wasn't accomplished with treats, this breed is not for everyone, especially beginners.
@@MrAnderson5157facts! I own a corso (an actual working line) & STILL feel the presa is a level above as far as requiring strong, CONSISTENT leadership. As u stated, not for everyone.
Disagree. It was not a big failure. The Dog was making sure that the area was protected. The Dog was overprotective of his Master. Once the Dog realized that everything was safe he obeyed the command to site down. The problem with some of you commenting is that you are not living you are only existing. You think the World is GTA video game.
If you are going to train a breed like his to be guard dog, you really have to put much more training into stopping the aggression than you do starting it. I believe that is much more important, and for his own protection too.
@@warriorsage591 William Grissom is actually 100% right. Only a prime dickhead would train aggression without control. Thick as a fucking brick some folk. How is this dog going to fair with its bastard head blown off just because some folk don’t value proper training? Dogs deserve good owners.
The switch turn on quick. But wont turn off as quick as it turn on. It'll be better if can be turn off as fast as turn on. Overall impressive and beautiful boy!
Yeah. You've just described my dog. I have to say, everything in an angry lunatic voice. Apart from a whistle. He stops whatever and comes back, whenever I whistle. And although he looks a bit scary, he never fights.
Needs a lot more training, he was switched on but damn he was hard to switch off, pretty concerning.. beautiful dog though but he needs a lot more work and Ull have a great companion 💯🙏🏾
@@brettchattaway5242 yes i agree but a presa is on another level altogether, my boy upon command blows in under a millisecond and turns into the demon dog from hell, fantastic with the family and people we accept but turns into a monster if needed, oh and they don't need to be trained to do It, its natural to them. Presa Canario's AREN'T pets and ONLY experienced folk should have one.! Ask ANYONE who has one and they will say the same..!
Presa's are Beast wouldn't want to break into this house. If your in a free state where you can own fire arms i say back it up get the ultimate protection dog the Presa Canario. This powerful dog when it comes to protecting children and family members in the house it's on another level. My wife & 12 year old know how to use a fire arm my 7 and 3 year old are protected, with My dogs understanding their assignment when I'm not home.
@@keithsavoie6943yep and its usually addicts and degenerates who own these typa dogs they can never handle them😂 it takes a lot of work to get these killers to act somewhat normal. Lots of bully owners end up drugging and sedating their dogs because they cant control them😂😂😂
My 128lb pit was snap trained…. 1 snap he sits, 1 snap n point to his food he eats….point at ground he lays down….. These type of breeds need to be thoroughly trained or problems will arise
@@afroasianlatinaqueen7617 the most hard headed I have a 17 month old male and he’s identical to the one in video and this is most stubborn breed I’ve come across just down right defiant

Amazing 👏 does his job to excellency ❤❤❤ to him there's only one purpose at night and it's to protect the house. It's all he lives for, to guard his family. I bet he's a good gentle boy too. My shenzi 6 months and fierce as well. If you have presas you already know what time it is. All these pre Madonnas and they're lame ass comments 😂
Not sure there was any protection skill or training demonstrated in this video. What it did demonstrate was the dog requires much much more training Sit should be instant on the first command Keep working with him. Turning his protection instinct on is one thing not having 100% control of it is dangerous and irresponsible
No he wasn’t fully listening bc dogs go off instinct and us as owners have to be patient with dominant breed when asking to protect. He was making sure there was no real threat…
Funny how so many comments are about the dog not being well trained enough to sit on command or to stop barking when told, when they themselves apparently weren't trained well enough to read the thumbnail
Pro dog trainer here thirty years yes your dog turns on very quick what does not respond as quickly to basic commands you need to stop with the protection mode and work on basic commands on the whole lot your dogs instantaneously sit the moment you I think your train backwards my friend start working on those basics hardcore he's clearly a smart dog
Secondly you do not want to turn him on like that for no reason at all when he goes into protection mode he should be working unless it's a legit threat he can back off without having to work you're putting him under a great deal of stress turning him on and then making him shut off without any work in between please buy a b leave
Even my 11 year old Australian shepherd knows when to get in attack mode. Part of the pack. I have no doubt she would do what she could to protect us. Just the presence alone of a dog is a no go for some criminals.
Funnily enough there's been tests done on this, they did fake home invasions with owners and their dogs and surprisingly the dogs you maybe would have expected to do something ie German shepard did nothing, it was the small dogs like terriers who kicked off the most and tried to attack the invader and made the most noise, Shepherds naturally herd and unless trained to attack a human they probably won't, not to say all dogs are like that I've heard of untrained mastiffs attacking assailants, but i think most would need to be trained👍
Eh, the difference is nobody cares if a 20lb dog is brave. My 130lb dog stopped a guy crawling in the window in Yonkers, NY. Now if you know the area you know that guy wasn’t there to clean up the place. You can guess what happened to that gentleman.

if you want to train the dog to guard the house, when they bark at a stimuli - you praise them "Good Bowser, Bowser watches the house." You may also want to train them for a "stop barking" type command, like "Daddy knows (or Mommy knows) - No more barking." They can learn basic commands like that - but you don't want to use a prong collar, they are problematic from several standpoints including they easily flip over and don't work, they can injure the dog, the dog needs to obey commands based on your voice orders, etc. etc. Prong collars are not a good idea. Teaching them to walk properly with a traditional metal/chain choke collar is the way to go - they will learn to respond to it by it's noise/sound, and of all the possible leash/collar combinations, they are the hardest for the dog to "slip" if you handle them properly, which means using the collar's noise, an occasional snap of the collar, not by prolonged choking - you maintain a constant light tension on the collar, it does not hurt them at all.
Prong collars are for teaching collars pressure and some dogs just get used to them. If you know what you are doing your animal will almost never get injured while wearing one. Only real risk being if you leave them with it on while they aren't on leash if it gets stuck on something.
Those collars are illegal in Britain, where I am. My big daft thing, just wants to please. .... apart from, he barks at every little knock. The neighbour hates us. When he's home alone, he just lies, sniffing under the door....on lunatic mode.😢 In every other way, he's a dream. But just won't stop barking,!!
@@bmxriderforlife1234 oh he's great on the leash, he doesn't pull. That6was the first thing,we had to sort out, he's to strong for that. And he's great at recall. And is even good with other dogs. It's the barking. Unless that's what a slip collar does. We did kick around the idea of an electric shock collar. But we didn't like the idea of that.
@@MrBollocks10 slip leash is like a choke chain but usually not banned in places with bans. You can use it to give corrections when he barks when you don't want. Then reward when he barks at something you do want him to bark at but without needlessly carrying on.
I'm not sure how difficult Presa Canario's are to train but I think that my dog, which is Kangal-Mareema might be more difficult to train but when I say sit, he sits the first time I tell him. He is off leash trained which is amazing considering these are bred for livestock guarding and are stubborn as hell. He listens to voice commands and has been socialized with people and animals since he was a baby. if you come on my property and he knows you, he wil come right up to you for belly rubs but if he doesn't know you, then you would have 175 lbs of hell coming your way. he is trained to protect my acreage, my animals and family yet he is a big pussy cat when out for a walk. He loves all dogs and loves playing with children. If he wasn't trained extensively from the start, he would have been an extremely dangerous animal. Unfortunately, from what I saw on your video, your dog appears to be a scary animal that hasn't had proper training.
There’s a difference between a dog that is naturally protective versus protective and trained more training needs to be put in to this dog because what are you going to do if it’s in full pre-drive going after somebody and it’s not trained enough for you to recall, then you have a very big problem on your hands

I’ll say that it takes some time and effort to get any command down. Now if you want instant response, it’s gonna take work. Who knows how long this particular dog has been training. He is clearly a big boy but for this breed he might be 10-11 months!?!? Maybe he just started training seriously. Having many dogs in my life I know they all get things on a different schedule and a different level. There is no Insta Train Button.
I sure miss my Cane Corso. he was such an amazing working dog, but I'd just might feel sorry the idiots that would break into my house with him sleeping on the couch. he was trained very well by voice and hand signals. he was a big teddy bear if he knew you but if not, YOU WERE NOT COMING INTO MY HOUSE..... he was 180lbs at his top weight, all muscle and his best friend was an 11lbs cat the size of his head
@@tonyojiambo5875 since he was pure muscle and was actually bigger then most Cane Corso his weight was good. but I forgot everyone is an expert on the internet

Having this type of Dog requires leadership not lead way. They’re dominant by nature. He needs to be properly trained to respond on the 1st command not when he gets ready. It’s a lack of respect he doesn’t see you as the pack leader 1:27

If he aint sitting on your 1st command to S I T than you probably wont be able to control of a HEAVY WEIGHT/POWER HOUSE of a dog if he goes APE SHIT you my friend have a nice presa but also a HUGE LIABILITY in your hands stay safe. I my self have 2 Malinois and first thing i train my dogs on is obedience training and socialization before i even think of training in personal protection.

Beautiful animal. It appears you don’t have adequate control of that animal even in your own home. It makes me concerned for the general public when he’s not in your home. If you can’t gain IMMEDIATE & almost complete control of your Presna, you shouldn’t own one. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Furthermore, this timeless video will serve as evidence of the poor control you have of that animal, in the unfortunate event the Presna acts like a Presna w/ a negligent owner.
I have the only breed that as far as I can find that the AKC explicitly says must never receive guard or protection dog training the Anatolian Shepherd and as well trained as mine is (he was attacked by a St Benard which in the 8 seconds it took my brain to get my mouth to give him the release command he hurt that dog but released the moment I said it.) I would never do what you did and would have quadrupled his training if it took me saying sit 2 times. No offense but these breeds of dogs are no different than a loaded gun. I also have a Boerboel and know how tempting it is to put them into kill mode but it's not worth it. I found that out the hard way years ago when I fkd around and found out pointing at my brother and giving my Doberman the attack command. My brother wound up in the hospital. From someone who has been down this road increase his training. Even in the most desperate of situations where he has to defend you he still needs to listen to you the first time, every time
