Different opinion:, the curved approach to short final (beginning abeam the intended point of landing) is SOP for the USN for all planes, including multi-engine AC. Acft is turning toward the runway at all times from a downwind position abeam the intended point of landing. Nothing wrong with making adjustments on final.
A sink rate warning is not the same as Pull Up - Sink rate needs a correction but, subject to company edicts, one can continue. If it goes to a hard "Whoop Whoop Pull Up" then it's a mandatory Pull Up, Go Around etc.
Think it's safe to say that most of us like these vids because we get to see the pilots fly the plane, etc.. So the intense zoom kinda takes away from what looked like a pretty cool and tight visual approach. Pity. But still a big fan of you guys, don't get me wrong!
we all wish they would fix it again...we have an airport with lots of history here, and they are letting it down....we greeks said that they can do allot of things with this...museum with onasis stuff, his office, car, and wha not....fix a small race track so this crazyness stop on the roads, this way it will be jobs openings and money since WE need it at this time lol.....but our government is working for other countrys not for this one! they want to sell us.....we hope this new guy Tsipras will do something cuz he is our last chance and hope!

That's when pilots had balls. Original Olympic Airways pilots were graduates of the Greek Air Force, the same guys that used to humiliate the Turks over the Aegean. Today many (certainly not all) pilots are simple graduates of a flight school and wet their pants when their computer is not working.
An unstable approach below 500ft with GPWS warnings ('Sink Rate!') and then a good pull up at the last second for a greaser which could happily risk a tailstrike. Fun to watch but goes against everything we are trained to do in modern commercial flying!
...and that's why most of today's trained pilots are not capable of performing a simple visual approach when needed and god forbids to switch off the ILS in an airport !! ASIANA , what ?
