don t don't remember the topic but it's obviously you're something about getting heater to work from anywhere and I think it's the Wi-Fi switch that I use on my forced air heater if you connect it up to the remote on your diesel heater and it will work as well from anywhere all you need is small relay connected to the remote fob that's activated by the Wi-Fi switch providing have the internet that's it simple
Hello , You can Use a EweLink smartphone control 7V 220V DIY 1ch 4 Channel Jog Inching Self-locking WIFI Wireless Remote Switch with RF controller to controle it !!! And it works directly from EWELINK.
Why do you need a 4 channel tho ? When a 4 channel is to run 4 lights If your wanting it for one heater you surly don’t need the 4 channel Just a basic Alexa smart switch will do
Fantastic video, thanks very much! This would be absolutely ideal for me, my heater is on a boat which is kept about a half hour drive away. To be able to get the heater fired up before leaving home would be great!
Hi Greg, can you do this with Alexa and a sonoff WiFi switch ( the same you did with the little remote) as long as your van is on WiFi ? Maybe you could do it your way as well for when you have no WiFi. ?

Hello I have purchased a heater with the new lcd controller , my question is , is that when I turn on the timer and enter the start up time and press ok it does not go to switch off time it goes to the second timer , am I doing something wrong. j hope you have some ideas please thankyou kind regards ,Mark
Hey Mate, why don't ypu just stand at your window with the remote control and turn on your Van that way, seems like an awful lot of work for a remote system
Hi Barrett... mine smelled slightly plastic - ish when first fired up... but after 15mins or so at full blast, it stopped and never had any problem since. If it is ongoing, it might be worth taking the cover off and seeing if anything has got on the heat exchanger that is causing the smell.
Sadly that GSM controller has been discontinued by GSM-UK. I have looked at some similar Chinese ones, but not sure which to buy in view of the fact that "we" need a "momentary" type relay action (as in the R101 input) and the adverts for the Chinese "gate opener" units don't mention this, and it's waste of time asking them!!!!!! - Any thoughts...........

Hi Greg Can you send a link for the gsm you bought I’ve got the lcd controller I’d like to be able to turn off and on by text mate Also I’m with giffgaff Would I get one of there sims Thanks mate you’re videos are brilliant But you must be into electronics or something cos I’m clueless Well done bro Moan the hippies f**k the system
Hi... the one in the video I got from www.gsm-uk.net/ You can use Giff Gaff if you want to because they use the o2 network which is supported by these gsm modules. But I am not sure if Giff Gaff do a PAYG without needing a top up each month?
Hi do you know if I can pair two remotes to the lcd controller? One to turn it on like you’ve just shown and the a second remote to turn it off next to my bed
Yes in fact I have just that. You need to get a copy remote or clone remote. Search on eBay loads will come up. You use that to clone your first remote which keeps the codes unchanged.
Why did you hack the remote, its much easier and less hassle to hack the actual controller with the screen, i hacked the controller itself much easier to solder. I will be posting a vid soon to show how, plus you can do it with single channel controller
I have in fact done that now but at the time I was playing with different controllers and wanted to keep that one 'clean' for another purpose which is why I also featured Henk's stuff where he hacked into the actual controllers.
I have my heater in a little camper for hunting in winter (-20-30C) man it would be nice to come back to a warm rig at night! Any tips on getting my stove to start cooking dinner for me 😉
Hi Greg I can’t find the o2 123 deal on their site all I see is their classic payg Is this the same? Or can you provide a link straight to the o2 123 deal you talk about in your video Cheers matey
I think Greg meant O2 321, which is googleable and brings up O2 "Classic Pay As You Go" which seems to tick all the boxes for this project. Just need to make sure you use a "chargeable activity" at least once every 6 months or you lose your credit. 2p per text, if using the reply service. www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/pay-as-you-go#simtype=classicpayasyougo
Brilliant video very well explained it would be amazing if you could have a phone app linked that shows you the status of the heater ie tells you if it's on/off and what temperature and also a timer for on off time or is there one? I have just purchased a Chinese night heater for my pick up ready for winter hopefully here tomorrow thanks again top class video 👏

Ok so as with doing a self build other things get in the way of all your good intentions! Do you or anyone you know making these? Or would they? as I’d rather buy one as my soldering skills leave a lot to be desired. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks
Camper Convert ah ok....the Remote Controller give then the Signal to the lcd Controller.... You have the gsm with one relais...can then i Switch the heater on and off?
@@jurgenwilhelm1472 Yes... that company sells dual channel gsm switches if you have two buttons as on my remote.... but I only wanted to switch on.. to turn off... I am already in the van. Details in the video.
