this is an excellent series. the interviewer is unobtrusive and never patronising or sleazy. it's beautifully shot with an evocative soundtrack. the women each tell their stories in an unaffected and authentic way. thank you to the whole team who have made it.👏

After seeing her say she's friends with Kayleigh, & now hearing her say that stuff. Am wondering how many other ppl she's made "friends" with who work there. Clearly wants same amount of drugs, but nothing that goes with getting them. You just no Kayleighs in jail for theft, after stealing/working reg, to pay for them both. Now she's gone she's leached onto her younger sister. Saying, "I know it's cold, but..." Vile, she may as well say yup, it's cold - but if you wear that, you might come back with more cash/drugs.

MsCharlieBrown78 (Charlie Rae) they all are very sick girls. I don't think anyone would stay that way if it was easy to straighten up. It's gonna be the hardest thing they ever do. But they need to stop making excuses and get to the work of it. I pray they all get clean and healthy. But I know it's easy to look at drug addicts as lazy but when you break down what they do in a day shit I would never do they aren't actually lazy. But instead of working of 9 to 5 they taken on a 24/7 job of addiction. Finding, searching, earning, doing and repeat. But if they thought about it they do way more work trying to stay high then they would living a normal life. I hope and wish them all the best. This has also become a huge ugly epidemic in the states. The world is so freaking scary.
How can Stacey find a job when she's heavily addicted to drugs? It doesn't take a brain surgeon to see she's a hardcore drug addict! She could never hold on to a job, and who would hire her anyway - look at the state of her! She's an addict, just like the rest of them.
I really do like Sammie jo. She's my absolute favorite. She's such a good person. And I can see there's a lot more hope for her. I really do hope and wish she will get her life together. Stacey on the other hand is garbage. I can't believe she's doing that to her little sister. She's too lazy to go and do it herself. She just wants free handouts. I think that's terrible. She really needs to stop.

My goodness, Sammi Jo and I are the same age and she looks 10 years older.. I wish she was able to get her life back together, you feel empathy for others when you can relate to them..you can see she is a likeable person
zane shamo well, mostly a care for humans who are in tough situations. if someone is happy being a sex worker then I don't see an issue. if someone clearly doesn't want to be in that situation then of course I'm worried about them.

Theodore Pike drug addiction is a lot more complicated than you think. I used to think like you and I got addicted to heroin and started doing sex work because of an injury and several surgeries and being on painkillers for a extended period of time. I'm sober now and work in social work at a safe injection site and needle exchange helping drug addicts and a lot of these people have a traumatic past or weren't even given a chance in life. I'm going back to school next year to change careers and it's not because I dislike what I'm doing. I find it very impactful and I love it even if it's extremely tough and heartbreaking at times but where I live social workers don't really make a living wage but I will continue to volunteer at needle exchanges and at resource centres for sex workers for as long as I live.
Stacey seems to frequently have a tallboy in her hand so I'm thinking she's *at least* an alcoholic. Still, it's a little difficult to believe that she's not abusing drugs at all...she certainly looks like it.

I see people saying "stay in school" or "don't do drugs kids" but most people using heroin daily use to escape usually having grim pasts, it's not about staying in school or not doing drugs people are victims of their circumstances

There are a lot of commenters on here that are judgemental, nasty, and clueless. These misunderstandings are what keeps people so separate and not willing to help others in need.

They are prostitutes to fund thier drug habit. It's a vicious cycle..Then there are these ppl who are standing up on thier soap box judging saying they are worthless. No one deserves this life and unless you walked in their shoes you couldn't understand. Ppl can be so cruel. I'm sure they really don't want to do this but add the drugs in and they need to support thier habit. It's sad my heart breaks for these women. We as a society have to do better

shall I give you all a cruel turn of fate ,I got clean because of my husband steve, he saved me 13 years ago I'm 32 now and I'm a widow cause he died of lung cancer in Feb 11th. Now I'm alone. I wouldn't go back on the drugs he'd be pissed off lol, but I have started smoking green again. Now it's a lonley life on my own forever cause nobody could replace my soul mate , he was so forgiving and sweet and sensitive. I love you steve rest in peace ❤

That's exactly what Stacey is. You can tell by how her sister is constantly looking at her for approval whenever she says anything. Stacey gives her a freaking deadline for how long her "dates" can be and tells her who she can and can't go with. What a terrible human being

What’s so messed up is when Stacey is introduced as Kayleigh’s friend it’s in a good way as a support but seeing her here we see her true self. She can get her ass out there too then.
I'm not going to judge cause these ladies have had hard lives and I wonder if something bad happened in their childhood or young adult to bring them into this. It's obvious they are hurting. I pray that they find their way, get help, and make something of thier lives

Mr Burns that's not true at all I went to live in London and saw loads of druggies in streets stop thinking London so much better then other places every place is the same and every place has druggies and people selling their bodys.
Sammy Jo is one of my favorites for various reasons and usually she's quite beautiful. It bothers me to see how much she's gone downhill since the last time they aired . I wish her the best . She smart and beautiful when she is taking care of herself.
Yeah I reckon Stacey was relying on the girl with the three kids as she had her money sanctioned then when the girl got 12 weeks in prison she then went to see her sister who works on the beat. Stacey doesnt work on the beat it seems to appear, but she is definitely a crack user, if not a herion user. Its plain to see for people who know what to look for.
I’m really loving Sammy Jo more and more with each episode. She’s smart and has a quick dry wit. I really hope she can get her life together. I’d love to read her autobiography one day. The frank honesty she speaks with is pure gold.

The lifestyle she has has definitely aged her 😔💔 This series has made me incredibly sad and I feel awful for these women and what they’ve been through / what they go through daily.
Sammie Jo looks so much older than 30 due to her addiction. It's amazing what drugs can do to your body. I hope she finds the help she needs and can put this past behind her, I really like her personality and outlook on things in life. She has so much to give and I think is generally a good person after watching this series.
Im an alcoholic and ive been trying for years to get sober. I had 1 year clean but relapsed 2 years ago. Addiction is a vicious cycle and can happen to anyone. Im thankful to have a roof over my head, am able to pay my bills, buy food but sometimes the adult responsibilities and priorities come last and alcohol comes first. I also have bpd and the alcohol decreases the depression and mood swings but when i get sober holy hell the mental illness rears its head ten fold. Im not hopeless and have been sober before so i know i can do it again. One day at a time💗
Stop forcing religion on them and go for more of the approach of know your worth and know you deserve better and know you’re smart and capable of better. They can save THEMSELVES not your made up religion!

I went through a really rough path with anxiety so my job finder sent me to a criminal stopper where people on the streets take classes to make their lives better I met drug dealers , druggies , homeless teenagers and people selling their bodys my heart broke on how nice and smart they was and to realise that drugs were stopping them from having a life and this one girl struggling because her roommate was trying to sell her on the street . and me here with none of these problems thinking my anxiety and their lives are struggles we all have struggles we just need to brake the glass wall what's stopping us . :/ i was their until I finished my courses and know I'm thinking if any of them are still on streets or got their lives together with a job and food and family .

I wish there was a follow up with each of the women shown bc I really liked each of them and I admire their strength very much! I think wish I could tell them myself just how amazing they are! If they can survive in that kind of life they can survive in anything! If anyone reads this comment who was involved in the production of this series PLEASEEE DO A FOLLOW UP! I’d LOVE to know where each of these incredible women are now in 2023/24!!!!! I’m concerned and care to know if they are impacted by all the fentanyl now found in heroin. Sammy Jo once owned a Salon. I am a hairstylist/barber. As long as humans still grow hair I will always have a job. So sad that her situation brought her too selling herself. I hope she and all the women in this video can change their lives around.
