Hi Robert, thanks for your comment! I based this modification on the Gränsfors Bruk Double Lugged Bearded Axe, which is itself based on a Swedish design of Axe that is dated back to 600ad. Thus, it is regarded as a Viking style of axe. Just because it is available today in the shops, does not mean it isn’t a design inspired by the Viking’s. There is archaeological proof that what we today refer to as the Viking’s (Nordic/Scandinavian settlers) used axes in a pattern similar to this. Hence, the name of the video.

Thank you! I preferred a more authentic look on this axe, because it’s going to get a lot of use! Maybe in the future though a mirror finish…
