Thank you, Sandi, for teaching me to not take my art so damn serious and to just have fun with it. By not taking it so seriously, I take it more seriously and now I'm more productive, creative and I have much more fun with my art. And by letting go of the thought that everything have to be good, everything gets better and I like what I do so much more. It's paradoxical, but do you know what I mean? 😅

So relaxing watching you work! I love how free you are Sandi and you studio is such a haven! I also get impatient with gouache and water colours drying and sometimes will just put another piece of paper over to top. Like a transfer or mono print to suck up the excess paint. Sometimes some happy accidents happen then I’ve got another ‘copy’ to play with.

i don't think the gouache portraits on black paper look like monsters at all! they're all fabulous. i've never been into drawing or painting faces... but now maybe i'll try it. and, like everyone else who comments, i absolutely love your loose style and feel inspired by it, and you. :) thank you

Over Christmas I had my 5 grand kids try blind contour drawings. They laughed so much, some actually turned out looking great.

I actually think your first one has the most recognisable details.I think you were really looking when you did it. I also like doing this with my eyes shut and as I feel my face though I always turn out so much wider than in reality!

Hi Sandi. I love this so much, a great exercise and super fun watching you paint with gouache. I also love your horses which I saw glimpses of in the background and when you flipped through your sketchbook. I was so inspired after watching that I immediately did a blind contour self portrait painting. Thank you for this video!!! 🙂

So many ways to work with contour drawings! I remember this exercise from when I was young--I should try it out again! Also I tried your tip of adding red to greens in painting a landscape this week! I think I added too much though because everything got a little too dark so I'll keep experimenting. Stay safe♡

I saw another of your videos talking about blind contour drawing, but you didn't explain the process, so I loved this video. I've been doing semi-blind contour drawing from photos of faces I find interesting. I can't stop. I'm doing several a day, and combing Pintrest for photos. You should do t-shirts with "Get your wonk on!"

Thank you, again for a fun video. I like the paintings you did in the flask medium. Like the vibrancy and the look of the strokes. I have been drawing for years, but only in the last year did drawing the contour of a subject hit me. I know, still learning. First of all I want to say that you are so adorable. I must smile big when I watch this video. I popped onto your channel because you were mentioned in a Laura Horn video. I am so glad I did!! I am trying to learn to play and not be so stressed when I make art. I want art making to be fun, but right now it feels like work. Anyway, I am going to try this blind contour drawing and see what sort of shenanigans I can get up to with art. Thank you again. Here is to many fun filled art making days ahead!!

I have spent all day doing art and I loved the watercolor faces- I did my sis and I also did an Owl free style. Im trying to do more free and loose drawings. You have inspired me. I did some blind contour stuff too. Just trying not to be a perfectionist. UGH! i have never drawn all day like this. It is so hard for me when I have a full time job.
