I know fairies mostly translates to foragers, but hear me out: fairy knights? That way you get cute cottagecore fairy aesthetic AND ✨ladies with swords✨
"Brain no work right now" is about the most relatable content there is. Hope you feel less blocked soon. Know that we're with you in spirit, also suffering pollen death. EDIT: It's fantastic you're taking a vacation, especially with the extra busyness on top of your usual workaholic mode. It's well deserved and I hope you get plenty of r&r!
3:43 I don't know how to feel that when you said red hair I got a notification for Rachel Maksy. The universe really wants me to draw Fairy clothes clearly.
I love the last fairy sooo much, she just looks like she'll rope the other ones into a picnic near a river and get them to spill their guts about gossip from other fairies. I think her name would be Fayetta or Lila. Please get as much rest as you need before you try to challenge yourself with another one of these videos.
Fun fact: According to Greek Mythology Apollo created hyacinths. Hyacinth/Hyacinthus was one of Apollo’s lovers, but Zephyrus, the god of the west wind, was also in love with Hyacinthus. One day Apollo and Hyacinthus were playing discus and out of jealousy Zephyrus blew the discus towards Hyacinthus’s head accidentally killing him. Then distraught and full of grief Apollo forbade Hades to claim Hyacinthus’s soul. He instead turned him into a flower, and out of Hyacinthus’s blood grew the first hyacinth. The hyacinth is also a symbol of peace, commitment and beauty, and also of power and pride. *TLDR: Apollo turned his dead gay lover Hyacinthus into a flower after a jealous wind god killed him.* ✨☀️🧝🏼♂️👨❤️💋👨🌬🥏🧝🏼♂️🪦😭🌸🏹✨ *Edit: I love your designs!!!*
Wow, they’re really beautiful, I love how they turned out ❤ Could you please do the planets/space 🪐 as mythical girls at some point, I think that would be really cool. Edit: (Obviously if you do not do them it’s totally fine, you should alway put you and your health first, sorry if I sound demanding).
As someone about to graduate in two weeks I absolutely feel that "brain empty" mode. I have like...3 or 4 assignments left for the entire semester and I just don't want to look at any of them because I'm exhausted and can't process the words anymore. I wish you luck with graduation! May it all go smoothly :)
I think it would be really fun to have some whimsical trash demons. I specifically have a mighty need for one to be made of an old milk jug….. just wondering…. Do you think whole milk or 2% would read more whimsical?
Spring allergies are the worst, I’m with you. Cute designs as always! I think the second one was my favorite, I totally agree that the hairstyle fit it. I think an okay name for the third one would be Gigi. Maybe Freya/Freyja or Blaire for the second one?
Turn trash into fairies/character designs - kinda like the little trash mermaid It could be like a fairy colony that was forced to live in city’s and pollutions a problem…
Seeing this a couple weeks before I compete in floriculture makes me so happy. I can't really explain why, but it does. I too am about to graduate at the end of May, so I feel your pain with dealing with all the things that wrap up your high school career. So, I wish you and everyone good luck with the end of the school year, no matter what grade you are in!
I really like the designs! This concept reminds me of the Flower Fairies series by Cicely Mary Barker. The designs in the books are more childlike and old (cause they were made in like the 1920s), but it's kind of the same idea. Hope you have a good vacation and get plenty of photosynthesis done!
"It's a little muddy but..there's a lot of mud in the forest" is my new favorite motivational quote. LOVE the vibe of the Iris fairy, I think the name Meredith would fit them nicely. Also maybe Anabel for the daffodil fairy? I love seeing your artistic process and it's always refreshing to know I'm not the only one who thinks negatively about my art, even when it genuinely looks really nice :) Sending you good vibes for the future!!
Right after your daffodil fairy, I was like...smacked in the face with inspiration that I thought was for a hydrangea fairy, but by the time it made it to my list it was like "No hon, you're from the south and like color." So now it's a Lantana fairy that will be rockin some nice steampunk looks with the 1880s lobster tail bustle and I'm actually really psyched to try drawing it. >A< This might just be me, but I felt like you chose some very...dignified??? Dignified flowers. And you might've had good luck with some slightly wilder choices. Stargazer lilies have really gorgeous patterns and coloring, for example. Or were you specifically looking for simpler, more dignified flowers? I'd love to hear why you picked these three. ovo (and just as I'm about to hit send I get struck with "lavender fairy = herbalist = a lavender fairy doctor" thankyou the wellspring of inspiration is deep as heck with this video)
I’m new to your channel and have loved watching your art videos. These fairies are so cute! I think it would be interesting to see how you would interpret different types of water …. things. Like a waterfall, the ocean, a river, or a lake (like Lake Hillier in Australia). Also congratulations on graduating soon!
The whole concept of this video takes me back. Way back. Specifically, it reminds me of me and my sister sitting on the floor as kids, reading the encyclopedia's section on flowers and discussing which ones fairies would use and for what purposes. I don't think either of us ever tried to draw any of them though...maybe someday.
I want to see hyacinth again same skin color and original design with corset and flare pants but instead of pink do purple hyacinth and it will look bomb
Despite you not being 100% happy with your designs this episode I still really love them. I have been in a funk over my art for years after taking art in high school and it just killing my creative spirit and enjoyment of art. I really love seeing your art even when it's not the best cause you inspire me so much and your videos brighten up my life. Keep up the amazing work
ahhhhh i actually love them so much!! your ability to push through and still make pretty art even in artblock inspires me so much,,,,,especially since i am currently,,,quite literally scribbling all over my sketchbook page 🏃🏽♀🏃🏽♀🏃🏽♀
I can feel your disappointment. I can see why you don’t like them I know you love Maximalism, but those backgrounds really weren’t helping. The daffodil was probably the best one because it’s design was coherent and smooth.
Rather than not explaining what I mean by that and actually being giving actual criticism that could be useful… The second fairy has very flat colors for its wings which looks very strange because you did a lot of shading and blending for the rest of it. The outfits super cool, I really enjoy genre blending in character designs especially if that’s the characters personality. I can totally imagine a punk girl who basically has her own style in a society which is mostly cottagecore even if it’s not time period appropriate. They’re fairies, let’s have fun girl. Although I think the main issue is just the colors and saturation.
The last one is… It’s not it girl, yikes. I could tell you struggled with that design, but we as a community are very proud of you for managing to push through and actually finish the piece even if it’s not the best. It’s actually pretty nice to see someone you look up to make bad designs because it makes you look more human and really does show that don’t expect everything you make to look perfect. I really idolize your art, your style, and your ability to create tangible art.
Ngl but in my mind you added free lore with the metal on the 3rd fairy it might be possible that once she saved a metalworker from an unfortunate fate and to show his thanks the metal worker made her his apprentice and made the buckle and metal bits of the overalls
Also YAYYY MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH ARE GREAT :D Totally don't hesitate to not make videos are make easy videos if you're busy or down for whatever reason :'00
SECOND COMMENT BECAUSE yes Okay so I guess I'll just note down my thoughts as I watch the video because if I wait till the end I'll completely forget everything by the time I want to comment
Name ideas First one: Jossie Daphne Blossom Second one: Christal Violet Lexi Monica Last one: Cupid Diana Cherry Rose Sry for bad spelling i am not a native. English i just learn it in school sryy
The three Flowers are: Daffodil (yellow); Orchids (purple); Hyacinth ( pink/purple-ish). Daffodil~ are easiest to grow, they come in bulbs, and generally vibe with most plants, and can live in any soil They are perennials: so they regrow every year. Orchids~ needs soil that doesn't clump/compress, and is deep, you can keep it from compressing by adding fine gravel/ mix in sand, they get also vibe with most plants. They grow better next to trees. It's perennial Hyacinth~ same as daffodils when it comes to planting, but may need chilled air to bloom, so keep them in shade, or if you live in an area with chilly spring mornings, you can just plant them wherever. Their perennial. If you ever wanna take any of these out of the garden, wait for them to stop blooming, then carefully dig out the bulbs/ roots( roots look a bit skinnier than a blob, also wrinkles a bit).
i love your art! i also get the artblock, very relatable. you'll get back into it. big brain comes up with ideas. it happens. eventually. i think. i hope. also, left to right for names: Daffy, Vilah and Ruth! :D
Love your vidéos. I don't know why but the jonquille, no daffodil (jonquille is in french) I mean the yellow flower gave me "art nouveau" vibes. Maybe because she's a red head drawn on the profil, but she's certainly my favorite. I would call her Camille. Prends du repos, I know what's like de mourir sous le poids des travaux scolaires haha
Loved the vid. Character design is hard especially when leaving your comfort zone, so it’s definitely understandable that you weren’t that into your designs. However, I personally think you actually did a really good job! I hope you enjoy your vacation!
I really like them! I know comments from strangers aren’t exactly the most encouraging thing, but I do really like those designs! I hope the art block goes away soon. For me when I get art block I feel like I’m worthless-and I just draw tiny bees on random scraps of paper. Have a good vacation, and enjoy photosynthesizing!! I hope you feel better after a good meal consisting of sun rays! :)
Brain no work is how I feel right now. I've been working on my comic, trying to put vids together for RU-vid and I had these design ideas now that I've started a redbubble account... Then I went to draw one today and... Brain is unavailable. Try calling back later.
Not a name suggestion, but thought I’d throw a couple iPad art program options into the ring if procreate isn’t vibing for you! Art Studio Pro is pretty great, a mix between photoshop, procreate, and clip studio if that’s your thing, plus you can import abr brushes if you’ve got em 👀 there’s also infinite painter which is free for trial I believe, affinity designer (which is basically one-time-purchase photoshop for the iPad), and of course the clip studio app (this one only works if subscription payments don’t bother you though, lmao). Great video as always! ❤️
Ohh I haven't watched the video yet but 1. I'm sorry I in part made you feel bad :') I (along with probably a lot of the other viewers) will be pretty excited about any character design you make, so don't worry about it too much ^^' 2. Then again now I get to see flowery fairies so I'm not complaining >:D
I'm sorry you're not feeling well, we hope you get better soon. Your art continues to be inspiring, even if you don't think so. Can't wait to see what you do next time until then we'll miss you😁 (P.S. You should totally do the 100 heads challenge😄)
Name suggestions: Clementine for Daffodil Rina for Golden Nettled Iris Gloria for Hyacinth These were all so beautiful and you’re such an amazing artist, I hope to one day be able to design and draw like you!! This video was also perfect because I wanted to draw a flower/plant inspired fantasy character but it failed so I wanted to try again today and you posted this just in time so now I’ve got inspiration >:3 I totally get needing a break and it’s totally fine!! Always put your health first, please don’t feel pressured to post videos a bunch if you need a break, I hope you start to feel better soon c:
They're absolutely beautiful! It's a-ok that they're not the best, you grow from every drawing, and it's hard to pull yourself out of art block, especially with so much going on. Taking a break is fine! You know what's best for you, and if that's what's going to help you feel and/or do better, then that break is absolutely something you should take. I hope you enjoy your break! :) (Edit was spelling)
I really like the silhouette of the first and the colours and texture of the third drawing. But I agree, the second drawing seems a bit oversaturated. Neverthless, great art as always!
Art block. So you still make very cool art but it takes longer and you feel like shit all the while? Yeah not fun. And relatable :) Also it's admirable that you still go for it. Doing what is important for you is a more crucial decision when it is hard to make! Also you asked what we think of the designs so I got my critical eye out! An interesting observation that hit me right in the face is that they look less rendered than other designs I've seen you do. I don't mean it as a bad thing (oh gosh believe me) it's so cool to observe that having trouble with your art has made you call a piece ''finished'' sooner in the polishing maybe? To me it's can totally be a good decision because the designs are solid (and freakin pretty might I add) and even though they are less polished they are superb. It also probably took you more time because you were struggling so I think you worked hard enough :) The dafodil looks a bit more pushed too and it makes sense since you said you struggled less with her. Maybe that's why you like them less but of course you know that more than me! Again it's only an interpretation and in no way I mean that as ''art bad'' because they are really well made😅. It is inspiring me to work harder when it's important as I tend to put out nothing when I don't feel like it. Again they are awesome it just hit me like that and I feel it's important to talk about such things in art. I am always scared when making this kind of comment but hopefully you'll get my intention :) I really like what you do and please tell me if I overstepped I'm not good with this thought sharing thingy that people do. That would also help me so yeah!
To your comment on the last design. Not a better artist, a different artist. A different artist may have been able to pull that original concept together more cohesively. Saying a “better” artist puts yourself down, and you don’t deserve that.
I- I love the last one, thank you for giving me the perfect afro translation (idk, I personally think color kinda makes a difference, maybe that’s why I like to make my ocs with light hair color)
So lovely art. I just love it. ♥️ so nice to see how pictures came to be when drawing with computer, i'm a painter my self but I only use watercolors..
I think for the background- you're faires already had a cute style and what would've been perfect would be the alphonse look, you could've traced the flowers and using just a flat gradient could've made it pop. I suck at backgrounds so any cheats to go simpler the better.
I am a flower fairy 🤗 Tho, usually I wear green and look like a bulbous stem. Then my pink mess of hair is the petals, but it end up looking like a dandelion 🥴
I think my favorite design is the third one, it looks so pretty! As for names I think Jessie for the first girl, Irene for the second, and Julia (J pronounced like an h) for the third?
Your design videos have inspired me to try to do some myself. Currently trying to do my own spidersona. Your videos are so comforting and real. Hope your vacation goes well and you get that well needed break! Take care of yourself 🥰
