Huge fan of Mad Max here, really nice and dynamic model, loved the scultped mask and gas tube ! But you missed the opportunity to call him IMMORKTAL JOE ! ;)
Funnily enough my ironjaws are based on the same universe. They are pale skinned clad in black weathered metals and have the distinctive black face paint. Wish I was good with kitbashing the waaaaaghboys could use an imvonurable Moe.
Green stuff would have actually worked better than milliput for sculpting the hair. Milliput is generally better for harder details (e.g. armor plates). Looks great though!
Love the Fury Road (orks)... did you know that the guy who plays Immortan Joe is the same actor who played Toecutter, the main villain in the original Mad Max film? He's a Shakespearean British actor, so that's why all his lines are great... I got a couple of his other films, too!
Instead of that Green Stuff World Pipe and Tentacle Roller I use a hair comb, its probably more fiddley and doesnt give as many options, but I have made some great ribbed pipes and worm style tentacles from it.
I know you love retro models. You sould consider tracking down a ork scorcher would look cool mad maz style my cult of speed had one there really cool.
I cant wait to see this army completed, maybe in the future we can see a custom War Rig from Kill Rig and Doof Wagon converted from Battlewagon, or maybe even Boomdakka Snazwagon with little gretchin Max
WITNESSED I'd say the head came out beautifully, don't put your sculpt down. It reads clearly as Joe and looks good and fitting with the rest of the model, good job.
"Mad Max: Fury Road" is one of my all-time favourite films, and I think what you've created here is a brilliant tribute. Do you have plans to make a "Toof Warrior" musician? :)
Apologies if you already know this but you can spiral the green stuff around very slender wire before rolling the resulting tube to produce cables that are tough and bendable
jay, your orcs are one of my favourite "themed" 40k armies. i enjoy every single video about them and i really hope to see them in action in one of those mysterious battle reports in the future maybe. seems like they could be especially fun in a narrative report
I love that you are always pushing yourself and trying new things. Love you immortal Joe! I think he looks amazing!! You have totally embraced the hobby! Fantastic work as always!! Thanks gents!! Where do you get your pine nuggets from? I have looked at lowes and can’t find them. Any advice?
Hot take. Bikes in 40K are a terrible, dumb idea. Dumb dumb dumb dumb. ... Except for Orks. Orks on bikes is so fitting. All other bikes suck. All of them.
I have a beast snagga thing going on with my orks. My first conversion has been trukks, necromunda trailers looted and pulled by squigs. Man this army is so much fun.
By chance have you ever looked at the Russian Tehnolog miniatures? They have a few good models and I’d be interested to hear your take on them and on their terrain kits which could be used in various games.
The next thing you need to do is a custom Battlewagon and a couple of buggies like a Kustom Boosta Blasta and a Killdakka Snazwagon to give you a big bad heavy support and some medium vehicles
