The top turned out pretty nice, but NOT a fan of the base....LTo me it looks cheap. Would have looked so much better with a more artistic base and made from natural hardwood. Just my 2 cents

I disagree. The star of the piece is the the top. If he made an artistic base it could potentially distract from the beauty of the top.

One thing you can do to help protect your art pieces is to place a plastic bad in areas around your piece, then fill the bags with spray foam, and close it up, when the spray foam dries, it fills in the gap areas to keep your piece from moving around and getting damaged.

Wow you are incredibly lucky, this gift from David is just beautiful and part of me envies you when I see these wonderful slices you got, including this superb "speckled maple cookie" (2:25) what a beauty!!! I can see that you've respected this superb wood by doing what you've done with it, thank you for doing it justice. Just something that reminds me, in previous videos I've seen on shaping plywood as you do, the people who did it moistened the wood to avoid or limit any risk of cracking, you didn't use this technique and it worked, but for other projects I think it's a good idea to do this way to bend plywood sheets.

Morley, since you knew exactly where you needed to cut the kerf board for your total length, you should have cut it before you it was glued. It would have been much easier to cut flat than as a glued curve. Just a thought for next time.

Hi Morley. I happened across this video and I’m so pleased I watched it. This is a fantastic idea for random off cuts, I personally would have cut it into squares to make boards because I clearly don’t have your vision. Defo a new sub from me 👍🏻 Also one quick question. Do you put epoxy in your hair, I swear those curls didn’t move once no matter how much you moved about 😂🤣😂🤣
