I printed out most of the foundation set and put it all in a binder to play with my wife, and it's a lot of fun in person. All the mechanics are replicable, though some are more tedious than others. Keeping track of stats is easiest with paper clips. We used green paper clips on the health/power side of the card to indicate stat gains and red paper clips to indicate stat reductions (a 4|4 with 2 red paper clips on the health side means 4|2). Mana is easily handled with glass drops and paper with circles drawn on it. Keywords icons were just printed out and placed on top of cards. Champion level conditions and other global tabs are kept track of with pen and paper. Random mechanics are handled with various dice (Warden's Prey would roll a D6 to determine the region, then another die to determine the follower within that region).
Hey I forgot to respond. You can find my business email and discord link on the about section of my channel. Reach out to me on either of those platforms so I can send you the goods
You: What was a stand out moment for you at the table?” New player: “When I defeated you.” Omg when I tell you I can’t breathe lol. I am crying with laughter
Ive been thinking about this for a long time, i tought it will be hard to pull off, but you mad lad make it happen. I think the trap archetype will be awesome on the physical form, like shuffling bunch of trap token into the deck and draw it each turn seems lit. Good job man!
I was just playing a Mushroom Timelines deck that I made an hour ago and it's the first deck that came up on my mind when I saw your post from reddit. I can just imagine how fun it would be to play a mushroom deck on a physical card game lol.
This was really cool! Maybe mana would be easier to track using cards as well. You just add another copy of a "mana gem" card to your field and tap/flip them when you spend it. It's one less die to worry about, plus I believe it would be easier to handle all the time.
Man You just pool the oldest casino's trick to this poor people, let them win and give free stuffs. Now they are going to being adictos to LoR, Welcome to this Beautiful Game ;)
It's easier if the player can back to back erase & write the health & power stas as it would be Hella confusing cuz in game the computer just do that for you. But still great job, LoR is one of the card game I can't imagine how RIOT gonna make a physical copy as the mechanic is hard to adapt to the physical version
It definitely was a bit tough to track but, dice were a bit easier cause they're easy to reuse. I also don't think it could ever be done physically, there are just too many cards that require the digital format to work
Even though concepts like graveyard (overall memory to keep track of things [Level ups, damage...etc.]) and choices, such as Manifest, Invoke and Predict are near impossible to pull off in a physical transition like this, I really enjoyed watching these solutions you guys made. Can I ask, if you're planning on making a Sandseer - 37 Landmark deck ? :D
