Got a job to machine some bespoke M8 nuts which aren't your usual off the counter part so decided to record it to show you how we went about doing it. I turned the coolant off for all but the drilling cycle so viewers could better see what was going on, but outside of the video the coolant was on at all times to prolong tool life.
We machined them in batches of 4 on hex bar for use in the restoration of a an old WW2 vehicle. Obviously not now nuts are made in mass production but the batch was a small enough to warrent the effort we put in for this method.
The job was carried out on an older model Romi CNC C Series Lathe.
