I'm an old head... It took adidas twenty years to finally give korn A shoe and they literally had a song called adidand worthy of wore their jumpsuits without even getting paid for them. The legendary glittery jumpsuit jonathan Would wear let's put together by his girlfriend at the time.... Hats off to converse for not Waiting for twenty years❤
Right on. I appreciate that comment, especially on a thread that seems to have "sell-outs" as a theme. Some cats say that and seemingly they, themselves, don't even know what that means, let alone why they're saying it.
I find it amusing how people express hatred towards this band for collaborating with Converse. Comments like "this band are sell outs" or "they're posers." Perhaps these individuals want to overlook the fact that "true punk" symbols are Doc Martens boots, leather jackets, and hair gel. Nothing screams "fuck capitalism" like a pair of outrageously expensive boots, a jacket costing a couple of hundred dollars, and a hair product that must be regularly purchased either at a supermarket or online store.
@@Red1676 based, but metal channels like that do not care. They’ll cover anything with distorted guitars. Marduk, FIR, Kiss, Sleep Token, Sleep, Whitechapel, etc. whatever gets views among a wide audience
Imagine thinking signing a contracts with a brand gives you power, opposite if anything. Kanye couldn’t even do anything and his own designs made billions. F his racism tho
@@maximoplfYeah, I should have commented, "I'll try to snag a pair before the fucking scalpers get them all." I'll still try to get a pair but I'll probably fail 😫
Man, I see a lot of people hatin on this commercial. I know the Dead Kennedys would never do anything like this. Just ask the Levi's corporation. Side note on that. Jello Biafra was the only one in the group who opposed of the idea. Anyway, these dudes need to eat, sleep somewhere, pay travel expenses so your hatin ass can see them, crew expenses and make new music. Shit ain't free. Ya need the bread. So what they sold out. Majority of bands do. And if that upsets you, don't concern yourself of the band anymore. Nobody is holding a gun to your head to accept everything a band does.
It may be considered not punk, but if you have love for music you need to be able to grow and persist. Where did all the Punk Gods go? Besides Rollins, I’ll wait. They were always bound to be a cut above their contemporaries.
