Very risky? Definitely Very stupid? Debatable Very illegal? Don’t see how It’s not like car loans have an interview process or ask a lot of questions. They simply say what’s your income, what car you want? Then check your credit score. If you happened do that 5-10 other times that day/week oh well. Banks can easily fix this gap in reporting by asking on the application if you’ve taken out any additional loans in the last 30 days. At that point lying would be fraud but until then it’s a completely legal loophole.

if i had to take a guess, the fraud isnt the loans themselves but more the type of loan. such as saying the loan is for a personal car, but instead its commercial

I see several host in my area that have been on Turo a few months and has about 12 New 2023 vehicles that probably cost between 60k -90k each. One of his cars is a C8 Corvette. He originally listed it at $1,100. A day and slowly his price dropped he's now down to $450. A day. Seems to me he is just trying to make enough money to pay his payments

the lender can see the other car loans you have. if you are qualified with truthful information,approved for the loan and make your payments how is it fraud??? you are not obligated to tell the lender what you want to use the car for especially if you have a business loan and are using it for business and carrying the proper insurance. just because you consider it more risky and not your business model doesn't make it illegal.

They can’t if you get them all in the same day. Which I believe is part of the issue. You can get multiple loans on the same day before the new loans hit your credit report.

@@davidradtke160That’s the lender’s issue. They can easily fix it by asking on their loan applications if you’ve taken any additional loans out in the last 30 days. Until they ask choosing to not volunteering that info is completely legal. (Most loan applications literally have no where to tell them that anyway)

because the fraud is not on the loan stacking, it could be on a single loan if you lie about the use of the vehicle.

The problem is her advice is objectively wrong. It’s not fraud in any way or sense of the word. So the question becomes why would she say this? Idk for sure but I do know she indirectly benefits from encouraging people to build fleets slow and steady with cash cars. If they do that they’re going to grow their fleets very slowly which gives top hosts like her more and more time to add cars. If everyone jumps in with 5-10-25 cars off rip though? Then they can have competing fleets to a top host in days. Not good for her.
