I happen to be in the market for new rudder pedals. Disappointed to hear these are too sensitive and not very taunt. That’s where I am at with the low end rudders from Thrustmaster.
Until my Pro Flight rudder pedals fail/break; I'll stick with them eh! Mine are mounted on my Next Level F-GT with combat flight pack and castors too. I also have an Alpha and Bravo mounted
I was going to get the whole setup and mount, but I put that on hold because I seem to have lost interest on the Xbox MSFS. I miss the PC version, Xbox is missing a lot like ships, animals, etc
i know it maybe sounds bad but i still haven't found a reason to buy rudder pedals, i only fly GA and stol planes, I only use the twist stick when taxiing and all my planes fly normal (also have auto rudder turned off)
My velocity one rudders wont update so I can use the flight one software and they don't work in Star Citizen. The company told me your pedals are working so you don' need to update and the never advertised they worked in Star Citizen ? WTF All I can say is stay away from their products!!. These pedals are $300!! I just bought the Winwing rudder pedals for $345 with the damper and you can get them without the damper for $ 289 and there the best pedals on the market right now. I absolutely love them the velocity ones are garbage compared to the Winwings period.
I have the TPM, and I LOVE them. I could never imagine going back to flying without pedals again. However, I concede that I was extremely fortunate in having a misso who supported this hobby and the purchase of these very expensive pedals. TheseTurtle Beach pedals were not around at the time of my purchase, but they seem like an excellent option for a lot of people out there. Great video Shane.
Great pedals for Fixed wing not so much for Rotary. I prefer to fly without springs in pedals for rotary and use my virpils that i added a damper to which is better in my opinion.
Great stuff Shane. This will certainly be on the spend list (more overtime needed!) to complimant my Velocity One Yoke system (Xbox). Thanks for the Video, Cheers.
I’ve had my TB rudder pedals for about 6 months now. Like you I found the tension a little light. I have become accustomed to them over time. I have learned how to compensate for the light tension. Hopefully TB will offer another set of springs with more tension. I really like them. Of course I have no other pedals to compare them to. Easy to setup. I use them with the carpet pads. Unless to jam on them they hold and do not slide.
Yeah, thanks Richard. I'm thinking the springs are light is because they do not want the pedals to move under load. However I do have the TPR's and they are very light too.
I debated going for the Velocity One pedals to replace my aging Thrustmaster T.Flight ones, but I was concerned that they may become sticky, as they run along rods/rails like the T.Flight pedals. In the end I bit the bullet and splashed out on the Thrustmaster TRP Pendular Rudder Pedals. They are so good, I wish I'd made the move earlier, so smooth and accurate. They match my Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick and throttle units, very solid.
When they work they are great. With the xbox series x, the toe bakes don't work most of the time. I turn the accessories on & off and it only sometimes works. I had to assign the brakes to another button. It's hard to make sharp turns without the toe brakes. Can't they fix this?
Thanks for this review and general channel content, If ever you felt like producing a video on using rudder pedals it would be appreciated, I use the Velocity yoke triggers for rudder to mostly steer on the ground and mostly small GA, very occasionally i use a little rudder on final too, but this does not help me too much. I wonder if my technique just sucks or would pedals release a whole new axis which I am missing control of due to lacking the right peripheral. If any of the above makes sense to you, I would appreciate your consideration or thoughts. Thanks as always.
I’m so glad they made an option for Xbox to piggyback from the yoke I had ordered it already and I thought I messed up because I already have all 3 USB ports on my Xbox taken up
