Turtle Leech (Placobdella) in South Fork Eel River 

This was a first for me. I have never seen leeches in the South Fork Eel River, despite many years of swimming here. I found it near dusk as I was swimming in the river. It was clinging to the rock face and kept stretching out, seeking something. Very interesting and unique find in the river!
