Great info Jon. It's amazing how TW have innovated so quickly. A few years ago they were very basic. I remember back in the 90s turtle waxing my grandads B reg merc by hand. It took hours of elbow grease!
Hi I bought most of the Graphene Turtle wax products, applied them by hand on my 13 reg Mini Cooper in Red, the results are stunning well done Turtle wax outstanding. Keith
Great video. What I like about Turtle wax is they making awesome products and not overcharging us customer. They have me as a customer for life great products at great prices well done Turtle wax.
This is how a sponsored video should be, no BS bigging it up to be absolutely perfect to make a few quid. Honest review from one of the lead guys in the industry for them, cracking work mate 👍
I was clearing out my fathers garage after he passed away and found a half used bottle of turtle wax original with a special promotion price of £1.99 from Texas.... so that dates it..... smelt ok though!!! Anyway, the point I make is that Turtle Wax have moved forward leaps and bounds.... away from the Sunday car washer with an old bucket and sponge.
I've been really looking forward to purchasing these products as they do work well, however having just been released in the UK at £30 each they're to expensive right now 😕
I bought all 3 products yesterday morning, should be here Monday hopefully. I wish they had the bucket for sale. £90 is a lot for 3 products. Hopefully they are good and the buckets set is a lot more expensive else I'll be gutted lol.
Great video and very well edited 😀 a lot of information in a short space of time, backed up by a good explanation of the product by a trusted RU-vidr. My only slight gripe on a Paid promotion I would have knocked down (adjusted) the amount of RU-vid adverts in Studio, I had 4 in 14 mins, seems a bit much.
thank you for this. there were 3 ads Ive dropped to 2. this is a reoccuring problem for me. it just seems totally random how many ads you tube puts in. And I dont realise it untill you guys tell me. you have to go into the editor tad to find them and delete them down. almost need a way to be able to cap it as a creator at publish point, like on the monetised tab reminder where you enable to monetisation there should be a hard cap number there you can set.
I thoroughly enjoy your informative and unbiased reviews. Your enthusiasm for the subject is plain to see. I have an 11 year old Alfa Romeo 159 ti Sportwagon (in Alfa Rosso Red, naturally!) which absolutely pops when it is polished. I will be purchasing the Turtlewax graphene products and cannot wait to use them on my bella ragazza. Keep up the good work!
Fantastic video, should do a video on what products you personally love and regularly use on your own car, cinematics and the voice over was spot on!! We need a full garage update and what you’ve done to the e46 matey
Sponsored video-the beanie comes off, the hair and beard get trimmed and tidied up as do the clothes and the whole thing becomes more professional and sanitised. There's a place for this but don't forget to do your own thing otherwise you lose the thing that we love about you.
Im laughing because it is true. Ive had to tidy up a little bit for some training videos Ive been shooting as well. dusted down the brush and tried my best to get a comb over going. (there not enough there so I end up looking more like Earnie from seasame street)
@@AR-rs2dy Im not sure what training videos he does.. but this is will be a detailing fundamentals course hosted by a company that you can sign up to and do online. It will be affordable as well. It wont be on you tube. details to follow soon Ive been flat out on this for a while now.
Ammo NYC and their RU-vid tutorials are in depth. Some alternative thinking, which makes it interesting. He also sells his own wide range of products which could be of interest to you. (I’d love to see the comparisons and hear your thoughts!)
Thanks for the review, I've just put a order in for a bottle, from ur link, I'm a mobile motorcycle detailer, so this will be very handy for what I do... 👍
AWESOME INTRO AND REVIEW! I too bought the tickets to YOUR fabulous new action thriller movie today but went to the preview in December when I got the TW Black bucket and all the products. In Jan I used them on a Toyota, black Camry and a Mazda 6, soul red, and I'm a BELIEVER! The 1 & Done is a knockout: It's fast, effective, and produced magnificent finishes. The Max Wax and Flex wax were just as incredible and of course, are now my go-to products. Love the NEW TW mindset and products.
Jon, I watched a review of this a few months ago from Apex detailing.. He was really impressed with its capability range. I was waiting for it to come out here in the UK.I need to do my old CLK (W208) and was hoping to give this stuff a whirl, the colour is Tanzanite blue and really pops in the sun light. Got a few swirls in it now, so based on you and Apex review I think I will give this a go. Thanks for the review, I will let you know how the old girl looks after
Picked up a couple of bottles during the buy one get one free deal for £17 including shipping! Look forward to playing with it and seeing how it fares against Sonax Perfect Finish.
Hi Jon, Thanks for this video. I never seen the Platelet 1 and done product before and I must say I am utterly Impressed. I know flex wax has been out for a year or so and it seems it takes forever for these products to get to Australia. By the time they do, something new comes out and it really frustrates me not being able to get it here without having to pay extortionate shipping charges to purchase overseas. We shouldn't have to pay double. I just wish we get these the same time everyone else does. Other detailing channels tease us constantly and the only people who seem to be able to get them are Americans and Canadians. They don't realise the world consists of many other countries too.
Excellent points Tony. I'm in the UK, and although we get the products a bit before you do in Oz, the price difference in the UK versus USA and Canada is ridiculous for us too. That said, the TW Precision Platelet is currently around £22.00 on the British Amazon Prime (inc. Shipping and packaging) and for a 500ml bottle I'd say is priced fairly now compared to a few months ago.
@@as680783 Prices tend to fluctuate on Amazon a great deal I have noticed too. I always go back and take a look and only purchase when I think it's reasonable. Sometimes, our local parts shops have sales too and you can get some items a bit cheaper but nothing to write home about. I have enough products now to last me for a few years, so I've taken a break from buying anymore.
Great review as always. This product is still not available here in Australia. Can’t find a supplier who can send it here either. Thanks for taking the time to go through all the aspects of the product.
Another amazing video, thank you so much for this review, wish we can get this in Australia. Can't wait to till it lands here. Cant wait for the next vid.
Super smooth machine. I'm no expert but i like sandro's general polishing suggestions, from down under. That you should work your section area in this case about 6x the size of your pad for 90-120sec. I found that with my slow style i easily ate up 90 seconds on the panel with just 3 passes. Of course this is not set in stone. But its more then enough on my toyota. Its my test standard that i use first.
Remember using TW Professional range over 10 years ago which at the time was a limited market, they have certainly diversified and moved with the market 👏
FLEX SPRAY at 30 quid for 500ml.! I can buy a litre of Garage Therapy Sigma for less than that and get better results. Also I have loads of Turtle Wax Hybrid Sealant left. 2 coats of that will give you 9 months protection. Incidentally CP4L are selling Turtle Wax Hybrid Sealant for 5.30. The cost of these Pro Line Products in the UK is almost double to the USA price 👀🤷♂️
Wow what an intro jon! I missed the video going online as I was busy washing the car and still using the original turtle wax dry& shine and sealant products. Might have to try some of this during the summertime as the car is due a correction after 30k miles and 4 years old 😉
Finally Dave the three products I've been waiting 4 ok old son sell them to me this is the only review in the detailing RU-vid world that matters to the UK public Dave says it's crap we don't buy if they've gives it the thumbs up with empty our bank accounts 😎
They have a bad name in general but the last couple of years as you said turtle wax have really levelled up. I’m looking forward to trying this especially on the tank of my motorbike
I can't believe that the pre condition paintwork was as bad as it looked here. It looked "prepared" to me. Having said that it looks like a product that is worth trying. Expensive though. TW are gradually ramping up the prices here in the UK. Is it usable by hand?
Another great video Jon. Thank you. However, I would have liked to hear your thoughts on how it compares to other products out there like Sonax Perfect Finish, S20 Black etc. I was also curious when you said the cutting level is varied by pressure. Surely that means to get to very best of its cutting abilities you need to be running forced rotation, right?
I can't help but wonder if the user would find it difficult to maintain the same level of cut over all panels...considering the fact not all the panels allow for the same amount of leverage to be placed on the machine
Hi Jon. Well, what can I say ! Just when I had made a commitment to myself to just stick to one or two brands, you come out with this video. I am gonna have to order some now, and try for myself. Great video as per usual. Kev KP Daly Automotive
I had made up my mind to give this product a go Jon, and your video added fuel to that fire. Nice job, and no problem with your style of paid promotion mate. But TW are taking the mickey with the U.K. price compared to the U.S.. So I am gonna give it a miss and stick with the cutting compounds I use and the TW ceramic offerings I already have a stock of (bought with a discount code for about £14 a bottle). Shame, but I have to vote with my wallet when a company takes the mick. £/$ equivalents we see frequently, up but what an uplift this time. I’m oot!
P.s. I honestly think they are pricing the enthusiasts out of the market for this product. £30 for 473mls? Fair enough if you do a lot of correction work. But for your average guy who wants to (and really should) only machine his car once a year, the lack of a smaller option, say 200mls or something, might be a deal breaker for many. I have to admit that is a big selling point for Sonax PF there. It might not cut as well as this? But you also don't need to have hundreds of mls of product sitting on a shelf for years and going out of date either. Just a thought. Maybe you could pass it back to TurtleWax as feedback.
@@ForensicDetailing that would be fantastic if they do. I think a lot more people would be willing to take the jump on a smaller bottle. And the word of mouth aspect is priceless.
Hi mate have you done a video on how hood graphene wax are to protect against water spots ??? It would be nice to know if it does better against water marks than a ceramic coat or worse ,? Thanks mate keep it up
@@ForensicDetailing ok mate looking forward to a video on water spots/ marks.. I believe they are the kryptonite to any weekend detailer :/ such a nightmare
I always feel there’s a real danger of sounding patronising when commenting on someone’s work (I think I might have said that the last time I commented) anyhow, just wanted to say well done mate! Great video and congrats on the sponsorship, good for you, you said you’d do more of it in 2021 (sponsored videos that is) and you have. Good luck on the journey buddy, I hope you get those, right for you offers, flooding in.
TLA - brilliant Jon 😂 I had already made my mind up to use Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Acrylic Black products on two of the family's black cars but now I can't wait to try these new products on other vehicles, TW seem to be really on a great course atm. Just need some decent weather now!
Hi great video as always. I'm planning on using this followed by the graphene TW spray. Do I need to use alcohol wipe? Also what is the best pad for a cut and a decent finish.
That could be their problem. Lately they released some decent products which have undercut the competition by a significant amount. There are plenty of people who aren’t going to pay the same money for Turtle Wax when they can get polishes from Sonax, Koch Chemie and Menzerna etc. You mentioned Perfect Finish which is one of the best polishes on the market used by high end professionals all over the world. It’s a brave move to take the very best on tie to toe. There is brand snobbery plus brand loyalty that Turtle Wax possibly will have to over come. Fortunately TW is sold everywhere and will be discounted before long.
So you do car with this, water rinse or a chemical? Can I then put my Maguire's blue spray ceramic on it or is there more to it. Sorry, never tried polishing, Have lots of nice gear, just no idea. Really helpful video as you always do :)
I’ve just got a new car John. It’s black. I’ve a week booked off work at the end of March to buff it. Should I protect the paint or not ? Is there much point in applying an lsp?
I have one question regarding the compound/polishing stage, after using a Dual Action polisher on the vehicle paintwork is it best to use IPA based products to wipe down residue as opposed to buffing off residues and then use IPA?
