Try getting a spool of.030 or .035 MIG wire to use for filler instead of that larger stuff. When your filler rod is too big on small parts like this it chills the puddle too much, causing your rod to stick. I would also be sharpening your tungsten after every time you dip it, once the tip gets boogered up the arc spreads out wider and it's a feedback cycle that turns into a huge mess.

Tig is faster but more expensive. You could do this with brazing. One method or another, for me the most important is the thinking and the preparation of your parts. It sure is a lot of fun!
