Good morning, dear student. I am not sure what essay you will get on Divala and Mathebula. Remember, this is a very broad reading and you might just be assessed on just one or two aspects/topics in this. But I usually tell students that their introduction, at the first-year level, just needs two things: a background/general statement and a thesis statement/main idea. The background statement(s) is more broad... and then you 'funnel' it into what the essay will be talking about. In summary, give us a background, and then tell us what you will be discussing.
