Thanks! this was very helpful for me. And yes, the value 11 is of 85 percentile i.e. the value 11 is greater than 85 percent of the entire data distribution under consideration. That's amazing, I understood it.

Hi Krish.. first of all I am thankful that how beautifully you are clearing concept. This is much easy way to grasp everything you are teaching. 11 is grater than 17 values and n is 20. so 17/20x100 = 85 percentile. It say 11 is grater than 85% of entire distribution.

we use inter quartile range (iqr) to remove outlier from the sample data set . the whole concept revolves around how can you remove outliers so that you can generate insights from the raw data.

As we calculated for 10 ie 16 we just add 1 and we get 17/20*100=85percentile.

82.5 % explanation: take the repeated value postions and do the average in this example (16+17)/2 = 16.5/20 × 100 = 82.5

For the question "What value exists at percentile rank of 25?" we got the index 5.25. Then we should be doing [5th index value + 0.25 (6th index value - 5th index value)]. But he said , we calculate the average of 2 numbers in this case.

firstly we reached to this 5th index bcz we got 5.25 ..okay now for 5.25 we've reached at index 5 but .25 which index doesn't exists that's why we calculate average 5th index and 6th index value 5+5/total no.of value(2) = 5 which is 5 that's why answer is 5th index value. i hope you understand

95 percentile is the ranking of value 11. Percentile Rank = (no of values less than equal to x + (o.5 * count of x) ) / total count * 100 = 18 + (0.5 * 2) / 20 * 100 = (19 /20) * 100 = 95 11 has greater value than 95 percentages of the values in the dataset
