i made my first recently !! i started with a product i knew wouldn't be damaged easily in shipping (he's a plush) to start off, just to be safe :] im super excited!
@@cosmocosmocosmo I've now been ordering from amiami for 1 year and trust me :) I've never had a scale figure come destroyed lol but shopping is expensive I hope you get your plushie soon!
Yes! It be good to get items to better justify spending $40 on shipping! Another option can be asking if friends or family that may want to order with you!
Wish you made this video a bit earlier. I ordered my first haul from AmiAmi at the start of January. I was so confused with the shipping, preorder, combining orders and everything since I just started this hobby. Good video though!
New to your channel. Ive bought from rightstuf a few times but i always see amiami boxes in figure videos so ive been curious about buying as ive seen the figures are atleast $60-90 cheaper than other sites. I checked reddit and seen ppl mentioned it takes them like 3+ months of waiting for shipping usually which scares me. This video was helpful
Uhm I’m a bit late but! I tried paying for my Norman Nendoroid from AmiAmi but every time I try paying it takes me back to review no matter how many times I try, I use PayPal to pay, please tell me how I can fix this I only have a weeks time 😭💕
Oh no! I haven’t encountered anything like that myself. Might be worth contacting AmiAmi directly to help you troubleshoot the issue! support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
i buy from amiami all the time, i hardly ever combine as the postage goes way up when you do as some figure boxes are a lot bigger than the figure itself, i'm glad the cheaper options have come back for shipping , i use the unregistered one quite a bit, but have never not recieved my figure, we certainly do pay with our crappy exchange rate, but what can you do? nice video by the way.
Ah thanks for the insight! Yeah I haven't been game try to the unregistered option yet, but with the cost of DHL I'm pretty temped to try I actually didn't realise it was available til after I uploaded the video Hopefully the exchange gets better!
All good! From memory it took about 3-5 business days to ship out the order once payment is received and another 2-3 days when shipped with DHL to Sydney, Australia!
hi, I am staying in Melbourne and planning to order a figurine. Just wanted how much the customs charge u? Do I have to pay customs when the delivery is being made?
Awesome! Custom charged on total cost of the items over $1000AUD (excluding GST, shipping, but includes insurance cost) I imagine custom will be charged when it arrives at the docks in Australia and you will receive an notification from the shipper (not AmiAmi) Info at the Australia Border Force website: www.abf.gov.au/buying-online/buying-online
@@Awarsing ah I see so anything(like figures)below AUD1000 won't require any separate payments right? The payments done in ami ami will be the only ones?
Question, I’m new to Ami ami and kinda learning to get around with it. I preordered something on it back in march and it’s not getting released till June. It’s not a figure but a small plush. And it has no specific day stated but a month and year. So I was wondering does it send you an email for payment right when it’s the first day of the month? (Sorry this sounds so dumb to ask) and the video was super helpful!
Hi! Not at all dumb to ask! Payment request email will be sent when the pre-order item is released and in-stock at AmiAmi I find sometimes it can take up to 3 days after release for them to send the email You will have 7 days to complete the payment too Side note the release month is reference only It can sometime release before or after the month (eg.Date is June, it can release the first week of the July or the last week of May), but they will send you an email to let you know of any delays in release Which could be why there’s generally no set day for release Enjoy your shopping with AmiAmi!
@@princeminds1861 Yep no problems. I haven't ordered plush from AmiAmi, but the single orders of figures I get come in a compact small box with lots of padding I've made a video about AmiAmi boxes here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xwT3vHxennw.html
@@Awarsing great sites thank you so much, i also found one called "thatshotstore" they've got a nice variety of figures if you wanted to check it out, they're located in victoria. With amiami, would you happen to know the average shipping cost for a figure? or does it depend on weight and size? thanks!
@@xCharkrai Thanks for the website link! Shipping prices seems to be based more on the size of the figure box packed into the shipping box. So far I paid for shipping: 2,580 YEN - size 80 (1x figure) 3,410 -YEN - size 100 (2x figure) 6,472 YEN - size 120 (3 - 5x figures) You will need to add 10% GST to those prices Photo for comparison of boxes size: drive.google.com/file/d/1uuPhYjQBIIpeRmlup1bLmP_qx8DOzxIe/view?usp=sharing
Three questions. 1.i have a PayPal account linked to my Australian bank account so when I'm purchasing on amiami thru PayPal, who does the currency conversion from and to joy?. Also, is there an extra conversion fee? 2. Is GST automatically added to the payment invoice by Amiami or not? 3. Just curious, from 6 months ago to now, hav DHL shipping prices remained relatively the same for you when you pay?
Hi Jasmin, 1. Currency conversion happens in Paypal and they deduct the AUD equivalent from your bank account The conversion rate includes the Paypal service fee, so it will be 2-3 YEN lower then the exchange rate It will show you the rate before you commit to buying 2. Yes. 10% GST will be added to the final invoice with shipping It will break down in the invoice as GST The website is the base price, just add 10% for all store items 3. Yes it has stay consistent based on the box size My lowest was 2251 YEN / $29.23 AUD both including GST (PopUp Parade Figure) - Box Size 80 Highest 9546 YEN / $136.37 AUD both including GST (Most recent one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tblXUQp-NIE.html , 3x medium figures) - Box Size 140
Hey there, just wondering since you mentioned DHL as the only option for shipping in Australia. Does that mean surface parcel is not an option? Because its available to choose for the shipping.
Hi! Yeah it became available after I made uploaded the video. It is listed in their shipping table: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048840471-Available-Shipping-method-table-by-country
@@Awarsing actually one more question. Is there any custom fees we have to pay? Im also living in sydney, any chance you had to pay for any? Just ordered lots of figures and im pretty afraid of getting hit by the customs😅
No worries. So far I haven’t had to pay for any customs, nor had any delay with customs when I shipped with DHL. I’m guessing since we already paid GST, it covers the fees? It might also depend on the total value of the goods, if it exceed $10,000 AUD (Pure speculation here)
hello thanks for the video I do have a question although you pretty much answered it in the video so i want to cancel a figure i bought but it supposed to come out this month and i am scared if amiami will delete my account since i have many many more pre orders on the site what should i do
Hi! All good! You can cancel your order long as they haven't sent you the email with the final cost and link for payment. But do cancel it sooner rather than later. Here's there AmiAmi's article on cancelling policy: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035789771-How-to-cancel-an-item-order- They will only close your account on extreme cases, such as failing to pay for your order on time multiply times You may lose your AmiAmi points when you cancel a order
helo i am still confused a little, i just made Account, so when i add the item to the cart and click PLACE ORDER,I don't pay it then right? i only pay when I get mail with FULL price with shipment and all tax all that? Then I can confirm like all and then I pay? Is that correct?
Hi! Yes that is correct, you won't make any payment when you place your order. The payment email will breakdown of the total, including shipping and tax. You'll have about 7 days to make the payment by clicking on the link or access from account page on the website. There may be additional import duties depending on your country when your item arrives at customs.
In the past I have paid between 2,046 YEN (pre-10% GST) for a single PopUp Parade via DHL to Sydney. You can also submit a request to get a shipping estiamte: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032895231-How-to-Obtain-a-Shipping-Estimate Support Form: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Sadly no. You can only combine with the pre-order if it’s released this month. Eg. Combine with pre-order time coming out in Oct. If you can wait til Nov 1st you should be able to combine 😎
Question, there's no form of payment using a debit card, only credit card, pay pal, or Unionpay. Do I still choose to use a credit card when I only have a debit card
Hi! I think in this case you can choose credit card AmiAmi does have warnings on using debit cards such as overdraft fees: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028727451-Do-you-accept-debit-cards-
The payment email will be sent to the same email you got your confirmation on placing your order. As its just an email with a link that takes you to the AmiAmi payment webpage
I live in the US and there were 5 options for delivery (EMS, DHL, Air Parcel, Surface Parcel, and Surface Mail (Premium)). Im thinking the Surface Parcel and I think that is the lowest cost for shipping? Im asking if which of these are low cost for shipping? Ty!
Surface Mail is definitely the cheaper then DHL, the trade off is up to 1-3 months (or more...) for the shipment. You do get to pick which shipping you would like even after you got the final amount for payment. As it will let you pick which shipping options is available to you: drive.google.com/file/d/1B11GU8manlKTz-kunqw5SHCxB-zv2AJ0/view?usp=sharing
Just made my first pre-order in Amiami it was around 3,500 but nervous about the shipping fee with DHL it , do you have an estimate on how much the shipping cost will be? It would be big help if you respond!it was a wall scroll btw
Hi! It is a good question, as theres two answers. 1. Normally you will only get the shipping price when they email your payment (after you placed your order and the item is in stock) 2. But they do say you can send them a request for quote but if the item isn't in stock (eg. pre-order) you pick an item that's similar: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032895231-How-to-Obtain-a-Shipping-Estimate Also there's shipping cost guide (except for DHL and the shipping fee) support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016483491-Shipping-Rates
You said that it would take till the end of the business day to get an email that the dhl package has been shipped it’s been 3 days after payment and haven’t gotten any updates Is this normal?
Hi! Sorry to hear about the delay in email... AmiAmi closed Dec 30 - Jan 2 for New Years, email to resume from Jan 4 It may take upwards of 2 weeks for them to catch up on their emails Overall on a normal week, I find they can vary now between 3-5 business days for time of payment and sending out the DHL shipping
Love your channel! How much do you usually pay for shipping? Do you also have to pay for customs? And I'm contemplating myself whether to buy stuff here locally or go for Amiami. Our local store here in Sydney are too expensive especially with the Jojos Bizzare Action Figures! Such rip off! Hope you can answer me ☺️☺️
Hi Goob3r187! Thanks! It's good to hear from another Sydney-sider! I've paid between $35 - $90 AUD (includ. GST) for DHL shipping (3 business days) from AmiAmi. No customs fees, but 10% for GST There's also a "Surface Parcel" option about half the price, but can take a few weeks/months to arrive. I've never used it before. For local, Anime Kaika (near Sydney Town Hall), does decent prices if you pre-order. Like most Aussie stores, it stock arrives about 1 month after it's released in Japan. www.kaika.com.au/series/jojos-bizarre-adventure/ Specifically for Jojo figures, I reckon Madman are okay if you wait for their 20% off sales, but you do run the risk of it being out of stock: www.madman.com.au/actions/search.do?method=types&searchTerms=jojo&contentTypeId=1&releaseTypeId=12&pager.offset=12
@@Awarsing How chilly is it these days? Ain't it's not even winter!! I've been going to Kaika and got a few preorders with them. Have you heard of Animeworks and Sugotoys (alot of cool stuff on there too) But thanks so much for the tip with Madman I just purchased the star platinum and a few others on the site! Love the fact they have free shipping over $75 Thanks again my friend 👍👍👍 keep up the good job with the uploads I've been watching alot of your vids!
It is chilly! Part of the reason why I wear gloves for the new videos. Ah yes I made my first order on Sugo last month, transferred my FF7 Tifa figure from AmiAmi to them as it turn out cheaper! Will check out Animeworks! No worries, glad it helped, free shipping is so good hey! Thank you for the support!
According to AmiAmi, they say it's not recommend to pay via Debit card, so Paypal might be the best option: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028416792-Accepted-Payment-Methods
In the past it's been between 1-3 days During busy periods like December, it can be up to a week or more Note they will shut down on Dec 30th - Jan 3rd and will have up to 2 weeks delayer. You will get 14 days to complete the payment
Sorry to hear... Have you tried checking your spam inbox? If you placed your order on week of Dec 26, you may encounter delays, as AmiAmi is closed between Dec 30 - Jan 3 Emails replies will start from Jan 4 The website says it may take up 2 weeks from Jan 3 for them to get through their backlog
What is the difference between UNREGISTERED and REGISTERED air packet parcel shipping? These are available for my order. I know the unregistered one does not come with insuarance and tracking, but does that mean the REGISTERED method DOES have tracking and insurance? I know these methods take between 2-4 weeks delivery and they are inexpensive price for shipping. Pleaae let mw know. Thank you.
I haven't used either of the shipping methods, but going by this help page, yes to both, register offers tracking and insurance up to 6000 Yen: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/13770040744345-Shipping-Service-Comparison
If I am buying something for 20 dolalrs from there and I live in the US, what is the cheapest shipping and what is it? Also can I cancel the order after I have placed it?
Hi Dat, Surface Mail would be the cheapest, but it will take 1-3 months with no tracking. I haven't used the service myself, so I can't say much about it. Yes you can cancel the order anytime after you placed it, even after they sent you a quote. However the website does warn you, if you cancel too many orders, they may terminate your account...
Sheesh that’s like $50 for shipping i guess sense you got 6 figures but still. I paid for one first time for 80 I’m assuming the grand total will be 114 with tax and DHL shipping
Paypal - 1. You can pay in your countries currency and Papal will convert. The conversion rate will be a little bit less, as it factors in Paypal fee 2. You can also opt to use your credit card conversion rate. 3. Exchange to Yen in advance so you can lock in the better conversion rate than just getting what's available at time of purchase. Here's a help article you can check what the exchange rates and steps: www.paypal.com/sm/smarthelp/article/where-can-i-find-paypal's-currency-exchange-rates-faq1976
Extra charges will be based on your country. You may be charged customs and import fee depending on value of the goods and packages may get opened as well. This can occur when it arrives at the country and it will be billed to you by the shipper and not AmiAmi. You can do a search online and see if there's any info for your country. ==== I'm based in Australia and the customs duties threshold is for shipment over AUD$1000. I just get charged 10% for Australian tax (Paid to AmiAmi as part of grand total). Here is an AmiAmi help article on it! support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033083892-Customs
Hi! AmiAmi has short article on 3D payment: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409405295769-3D-secure-for-credit-card-payments I have been using Paypal and it's been working okay for me
So if the item and shipping + GST comes out in the email and it’s too expensive. Can you cancel it? I’ve heard from posts and reddit that AmiAmi seems to be quite strict on cancellations and that they cancel or terminate your account after a couple of cancels. Is this true?
Hi! On their support page it states repeated cancellation of non-eligible items, includes invoices pre-orders. support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035789771-How-to-cancel-an-item-order- You also lose all AmiAmi points each time you cancel. Only something I found out recently, they do offer shipping estimate: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032895231-How-to-Obtain-a-Shipping-Estimate I haven’t tried it myself, but could be handy to get a estimate without having to make an order
Hey bro, I am watching this tutorial because I want to try to purchase from Amiami, I noticed at around 3:19, it only gave you 2 options for shipping, DHL and Surface, however on 4:55, it gave you 2 more additional shipping methods. Does it mean that even if you chose DHL upon checkout, you can still change the shipping to other options upon payment? Another concern that I have is with regards to import fees/customs fees that I need to pay since Amiami doesn't allow undervaluing their products. I also want to point out you forgot to blur your address and phone number at 4:55. Please do so for your privacy and for your own safety as well.
Sharp eyes! The shipping method constantly change due to the current shipping restrictions across the world. You'll have to check here for the latest available shipping method for your country: support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043222891--Important-COVID-19-shipping-restrictions ^In the link also mention while you can select a shipping method different to your order and if not available to your country when you're making payment, the order will be placed on-hold until it becomes available
Thanks! Upon checking, only DHL and Surface Parcel are the ones available shipping method as of now, not only on Amiami but on other Japanese websites as well. DHL is quite expensive and Surface Parcel takes ages to arrive so I guess I'll just skip buying from Japanese websites for now. Besides there are a lot of anime figures on sale in local retailers here because they are not that popular, most collectors here do prefer western figures (Marvel, DC, Star Wars etc...). I'm glad you are able to edit out the address part. It's a pleasure of mine to help out. 😁
Yeah it’s either super expensive or super long delivery 😅 Oh I see! Sales are great! Hope you get some great addition to your collection! Yeah it was a good learning experience re:address and yes would have sucked to had delete entire video…

Hi! GST is Goods and Service Tax and it's for imports going into Australia. Paypal incorporate the fee into the exchange rate, so you end up paying a little bit more, it's been about 3-5 yen less per Australian dollar.
Yep! You’ll have to wait for the order to become in-stock and AmiAmi will send you the invoice to pay. Once paid they’ll send out the shipping notification and tracking! It can take up 1 week for this process once’s it’s in-stock.
