I found that using a torus with collisions is way easier than using hooks for this application, and also tends to give a more natural look to the falloff. However, your tutorial was great and it helped me a lot to understand hooks, cloth and collision better.

How to unhock rope while moving the object

HI, thank you for this very good tutorial, when I tried it why did the rope mesh become flat

Everything is amazing in this video, but what amazed me the most was how WRONG you positioned the rope inside the carabiner. Such a position would not hold even the weight of the rope, let alone the weight of a human. I was -stunned- outraged maybe because of how unbelievably detailed everything ELSE, was in the the video. Thank you for posting the video as it was impressive and informing. Cheers.

Nice results, but you are going way too fast for someone to be able to follow along and learn. Slow down and pause between steps.
