@@Flederratte I am from the US and I can tell you in all honesty that if you dumped a USA garbage-dump in Brazil, it would be an instant gold mine. I am not kidding. It is so sad the waste of the tech countries. People here in Brazil have territories marked out of who gets what metals, plastics, glass etc in all the city streets on garbage days.
Awesome! I am building the same thing today. I have almost exactly the same materials. I wish I had the walking stick composite shafts; mine are just aluminum. It doesn't bother you that right behind the the spear tip, the shaft is bigger? 12:18 It doesn't look hydrodynamic. Probably isn't a big deal, but IDK, my eyes don't like it. Awesome Video! Thank You! edit: Had to come back and say this is the best video on this. Do you ever go spearfishing in Brazil?
One problem you're going to see with using that eyebolt for the band is fraying. With sharp edges like that, the band or rope will fray very quickly over time. It would be a good idea to round out (bevel) the edges of the inner hole to reduce the friction on your rope.
I know it's been three years but..... Would there be any reason Not to use a swivel as that eyebolt? I have one from my broken surfboard leash that fits perfect.
@@VidarrKerr yes, that could work too, but the main point I was originally making was about the sharp 90° angles which would fray the bands after only a few uses. Rounded edges such as on a swivel would potentially work as well.
tolle Arbeit!
+Dejan Belec yeah thats a way to pimp the spear, but for the first i didnt had anything but thisone. Normally you should strech speargun rubbers on 360% Greetings
I am using aluminum tubes. They were 1.2 meter curtain rods. I put two together for a 2.40 total shaft length. Everything else is almost identical to his build. I won't know for a few days how it works; I am building it today/tomorrow (epoxy).
@@Gearsub Yes. Of course. I have it laid out right now before I epoxy it all tomorrow. Email me at vidarrkerr at gmail and I will send you the pics. I don't mean to be rude, but I think my joint solution is much better. We both are working with "recycles" so I don't mean any offense at all. I just happened to have better pieces for the splice.
