Pro-C 2 *IS* the best compressor plugin I've used. So many features! Of course, I still use others, but this is the go-to plugin. I always use it on group busses for sidechain compression.
I love all the FabFilter plugins. They are just unmatched unless you have UA hardware and can use their plugins, which I don't. I appreciate these tutorials. They would be a lot more valuable to me if there were examples of how the different settings sounds. The rapid-fire pacing is a great way to get through such feature-rich plugins, but I can get that information from just looking at a picture in the manual. I would really love to actually hear how the different settings sound as you go through and tell us where they are. Thanks for these. I'll be exploring all of your FabFilter tours, since I was lucky enough to get the Total Bundle from a friend who is a composer for Disney/Pixar and needed them and the iZotope Advanced package for just one project. I feel like I hit the lottery! Between the two, there's pretty much nothing else you could ever want. Those massive Waves files are on their way to the trash. Keep up the great work!
It's a great, great plugin. Sometimes I don't feel like its the best for beginners simply because it has "too many knobs" if that makes sense. Theres so many options and details that I find myself playing with it for hours lol. AMAZING, AMAZING, plugin for people who know what they're doing when it comes to compression though. But that really beautiful UI cant be beat, and the sidechaining is awesome too. But I gotta remember to close my eyes and check if I can hear the difference, or if my eyes/ears are just fooling me. I love all of the fabfilter plugins.
It is overwhelming but it helped me to understand compression in depth till the point that i can achieve same results with Ableton stock compression to save CPU
I finally bought the complete FabFilter bundle yesterday. Pro C2 is included too. My wallet wasn’t happy when I made the purchase. But I love these plugins!!!
I couldn't agree more that the Pro-C 2 is brilliant. It is the only compressor I bought after seeing it in a video some time back and I love it. Other than it I mostly use Analog Obsession compressors when I want easy to set up emulations of old hardware compressors like the LA-2A which LALA does quite a good job of. I also find COMPER very handy with the two in one approach. The presets in C 2 are a great way to get settings starting points for particular applications.
THESUS glue compressor is used for something different. It can be used for the same things but typically its used to bring uniformity to a group of sounds.
Your videos are freakin amazing. Thank you for so much knowledge, presented straight to the point. Too bad we couldn't hear Sandstorm playing in the background, getting EQed by Fabfilter.
To be honest, I don't watch your videos for the content (although they are always thorough and comprehensive), I come here to listen to your accent. I would listen to you explain anything lol
It's funny - you present a plugin without your viewers ever let them hear it. No "Darude" by Sandstorm in this one. And when exactly did you change your opinion on autogain? :)
Oh boy, from a professional producer, I would expect _slightly_ better mic audio. Don't get me wrong, I love your videos. But you have to admit the audio quality of your vids is also advertising for your studio.
