The cutscenes for me were super jarring to the point where I was feeling super sick and I definitely have my VR legs, how did you combat this?

@@bigbangerz5856 Ya somewhere around there I think, on Ultra. Basically kept motion smoothing on always - 45fps with repro mostly. I realized that no settings were gonna get me a constant 90fps, so motion smoothing is a must.

Hey, I completed everything you said in the video however for some reason its not letting me play in full VR. It only comes up and plays on a theatre like screen on my VR headset and it wont allow me to play with full motion controls, it still asks me to use my keyboard keys to move. I could turn my head and it would move my characters head so im half way there. could you help me fix this please? Would be really appreciated as i love this game and want to feel fully immersed in the resident evil universe.

6:16 Bro, I noticed that you have the same problem of the camera moving unintentionally in cutscenes. I will give you a solution. Open the root folder of the game and find the file: "re2_fw_config", find the text: "VR_DecoupledPitch=false", change "false" with "true" and that's all. In the cutscenes the camera will not move vertically anymore and say bye bye to the motion sickness.

@@tcholo7465 As for the "in-body camera" thing, depending on the VR you have (I have an Oculus Rift S) you can try resetting vision. Now what I think is really happening to you is that you only see your arms and legs but not your body. For that you must put your hands in a certain position that I don't remember now and when the menu appears, look for an option called "full body" or something like that.

@@tcholo7465 As for the "graphic issue - graininess" I don't know. My game doesn't look like that, but try turning up both texture quality and texture sharpening. Tomorrow I will send to you my settings and I have an RTX 3070 Ti, so if you have a simular GPU or better, you shouldn't have any visual or graphical problems.

Why is it not working for me? When I try to Play in Theatre Mode, my headset gets all laggy and the game won't show up. It launches on my laptop, but not my headset. I'm using a Quest 2 with Oculus Link. I don't do a lot of modding, but I had to try this out. So any help for a PC noob is appreciated

Found a work round. Steam interface Top left click steam.... settings..... account..... and opt into steam beta. Set up oculus airlink. Then steamvr. Headset on and stats game through the vr menu in theater mode. Should do the trick

I'm using adguard. Cheap if you look around. On many cheapo gaming key sites. Best thing is, unlike many browser addons sometimes stop working. Guys at Adguard end up fixing anything broken (YT) and send out a new update.

REFramework Default Menu Key: Insert Transparency (?) Input Passthrough (?) About REFramework is currently initializing... This menu will close after initialization if you have the remember option and then the game closes why

Awesome mate cheers. Btw with 7zip if you double click on the zip file you can just drag and drop the contents into your file. And another tip, Do yourself a favour and make a shortcut of your steamapps common folder.

Been wanting to try this for a while now so gave it go yesterday I followed the video step by step also paid for the nexusmods and installed everything Was getting major problems with lag and the game looked shocking So I have just deleted the game and then reinstalled it and have only added the praydog mod but not installed the 4k textures now the game looks incredible and plays perfect I have my settings set to medium on almost everything Using the quest 2 with virtual desktop 3070ti Looking forward to playing it over the next few days 👍

@@okinclassinstalled the 4k textures the first time round as well as the praydog mod and was getting major lag and it looked shocking So I deleted the game then reinstalled with only the praydog mod so I believe it was the 4k texture pack causing the issue Hope that helps m8 👍👍

@@FROGGY_BOY_VR nah I had the same issue I have the same gpu btw, the issue is openvr runtime delete that file then open oculus pc app then go to settings >beta >developer runtime> enable, this makes you use openxr. Idk why but openvr is dogshit

@@madtanman Okay. Ignore what I said before. You don’t have to change to openxr leave it as it is at openvr. close your oculus app. Locate oculus debug tool in your oculus folders. Then change “Adaptive GPU performance scale” change it from “default” to “disable”. Now don’t close the debug tool keep it running in the background and open your oculus app and link your headset and that’s it. (Btw you’ll have to do this every time you play because the moment you close the debug tool it will reset any changes you’ve made) and that’s it your latency will go down from 50 to 10 and the lag will be gone

To provide an update with my progress on getting this mod to work and be playable i have finally got it to be playable. i was using a hardwire connection instead of airlink to avoid any interuption of the wireless through airlink. However i still had airlink running eventhough i was wired in with a proper cable and usb 3 port on my motherboard capable of the required speeds needed. This created a laggy experience because the wireless connection was doing the work rather than the hardwired connection i intended on to prevent this in the first place. So if you are using quest 2/3 and wired to your pc using the right cable and port on your p then double check in the occulus link settings that air link is disabled, when using your hardwire from headset to pc. Now i have to fine tune to get better graphical details but that one change in setup made a day and night difference. I have also set graphic performance in the occulus app to reccomended and default settings in steam. Im running a quest 3 with a pc that has 3090 5800x3d with 64 gb ram on wifi.

Play without to put 4k texture.I also copied 4k texture pak over original pak texture and game not start in vr. I had to reinstall the game, put only the vr files and game run in 4k in full on pc and vr ok.

I had that too, i made the dumb mistake that after extracting the file, there was just a map called re7 wich i left in the directory.. But i did not know you had to open up that map and copy past everything that was in it to the directory.

My image is all multi-coloured and garbled on my quest 2 when i try to run it, the image on my pc screen is fine but in the headset its all multicolourd and psychedelic looking? any idea how to fix this?

@@Migee7 if you delete openvr_api.dll you dont need steamVR to run the game, run the game once your quest2 is linked either by air or cable to your computer. The you just star the game and should load.

@@TrueFFranco I deleted openvr and but i still have the same problem, the game loads fine on my monitor but in vr it is multicolored and unplayable, i can see the image in my monitor and it looks perfect but in the vr headset its all multicolored and psychedelic looking.

When i right click the re7 file "copy" doesnt show up. Also, I cant find the steam library file as i do not show a "Volume E" in my files.

Volume E seems to be the name of the drive. The libray files should be in your main hard drive. under program files>steam>steamapps>common> resident evil 7. You can drag and drop the re7zip into this folder I assume

VR was made for horror games. Its fucking mind blowing how good horror games are in VR. Resident evil 2 remake wasn't great though but thats because RE7 and RE8 were made with VR in mind. So basically any horror games that are first person work the best.

Works perfect for me at the good old rift s ty ^^ I really made a dumb mistake, after extracting that file i just put that whole map as is in the directory . So i just got stuck in the vr room playing it on the screen. But i had to open up that file after extraction and copy past everything that was in there, in to the directory 😂 i did not download the graphics mod btw, just the vr file.

I can't get any of the resident evil games to work, I'm just stuck in the white room on the headset for some reason. Devil may cry 5 worked fine but not those. Haven't tried a fresh install yet but I gave up for the time being.

need serious help. its forcing an asysmall aspect ratio that makes it unstreamable for me, and absolutely none of the graphics, fov, or aspect ratio settings do a singoe thing to change anytjing...like, theyre actual dud settings that do nothing. i cant stream the game because of this nor have i found a single soul on this earth that is having the same issue, so there's no postings for it anywhere online

I love VR! But I'm not always able to do motion controls because my small living situation. Is there an option in the mod to switch the controls to a controller but keep the VR look? Like how Subnautica plays in the VR mod.

Tbh a lot of motion controls are activated by pressing a button. You don’t need a lot of space for this game.

Whenever to go in it’s all fine and stuff and motion control works great but then once you start playing for like 1 minute the game freezes up and blinks for awhile until it closes. I’m pretty sure I have the specs to run this at 4k on a quest 2 as I have an intel i9 14th gen and an rtx 4070, along with 32 gigs of ram. I tried turning ray tracing off and setting the settings down and it doesn’t help. Any suggestions?

Hi Sebastian, started to play this again but it is no longer playable, the game latency is over 100 ms. Not sure if its updates to steam or Virtual desktop, trying to find someone else to try it just incase I am missing something - thanks Mike

it's definitely not the best VR headset, but the game seems playable even with a PS VR 1 with ivry, only problem is the standard controls of the emulated vive controllers that interfere, at least the recalibration button of the left controller also used to open the map and the L2 (equivalent) button used to open the weapon menù that is also normally used to open the steam VR menù (at least i guess, i see the steam logo "loading"), is there a solution? plus i sometimes get some lag (no 4K textures) and i have problems opening the settings of the VR mod in-game, can i eventually lower some settings somehow?

Finally got round to trying this, pretty awesome, dunno if I did summat wrong tho, my texture packs weren't in zip format, I just copied them into the resi evil folder and it didn't ask me to replace any files and I didn't need to extract it as it wasn't archived

bro i have issues with camera positioning at this mod. it seems like camera inside body and i see part of my body infront of me and also the graphic issue - graininess. how can i solve it ?

@@tcholo7465 I ended up reinstalling the game and doing the mod again and I went with the lite texture pack instead cause I haven't got a Ray tracing gfx card anyway, seems to run OK now, camera was a bit jumpy though, think I turned off the option to show the body and to show just the arms

@@nij2k 2 fixes posted in comments for others reading 1: Farlox 5 months ago 6:16 Bro, I noticed that you have the same problem of the camera moving unintentionally in cutscenes. I will give you a solution. Open the root folder of the game and find the file: "r2_fw_config", find the text: "VR_DecoupledPitch=false", change "false" with "true" and that's all. In the cutscenes the camera will not move vertically anymore and say bye bye to the motion sickness. 2:Use OVR Advanced Settings in the Steam store to adjust 1st person view.

Great News! Thanks! Is it possible to get a vac ban on Steam for such kind of non official modes? I was upset about they didn't make a VR version for PC. Hope they don't block the content such as like Rockstar did.

Works fine with re7 until I get to the part where mia attacks me and knocks herself out. Just stuck there, the attack doesn't continue no matter what I do

Sadly, this is almost unplayable for me. Within minutes, I am ready to vomit from the constant movement. I never have this problem in VR. Is there a solution that can fix this?

it should synchronize on its own if you launch it from your desktop while your headset is connected and on regardless but if you open your quick steam menu in the bottom left there is an option to open steam, then go to library, games, and there u are.

I just installed Resident Evil 7 on Steam. Browsed the game folder and the vr files are already in there. How come? have Capcom released a VR mod without telling us? It looks to be the praydog mod because it even contains the text file "DELETE_OPENVR_API_DLL_IF_YOU_WANT_TO_USE_OPENXR"
