Made my first wig with this tutorial and it came out fire... So my Aunt now wants to pay me to make her a wig so I'm coming back to this video to refresh my memory lol
i think this is the best wig D.I.Y. tutorial I've ever seen omg you your fingers was not in the way and you didn't talk about unnecessary things. very detailed visually and stright to the point. omg love this 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Terricia Pope exactly. i waa praying she didn't just ramble for 30ms. very quick, super easy, straight forward. especially when she placed tge skip time in her video. love!
After watching this video probably over 20 times, you have finally given me the courage to make my own wig. This made the process so easy to understand 😩 thank you so much!
wigs are my passion i want my own wig collection but i barely have money for the weave and stuff i need i might just save up for my first handmade wig supplies so i can make my very own wig wish me luck💙
CallMe BeaBea you should start off with hair from the beauty supply store just to get you started and once you get more practice and some kind of portfolio of your work, have people bring their own hair and you can just make the wigs for them. It's just an idea.
I want to say thank you for this detailed video. I am a beginner, I’ll be making my first wig and I have great confidence from watching this video !!! I love you tubers that take their time explaining everything and giving tips and information that is worth a subscriber!!!
One of the best youtube tutorials...straight to the point. You're not easily distracted by a cat running through your living room or other things (you know what i mean...) like some of the people posting videos.

Chrissy. Thank you so much for uploading this detailed tutorial. I've been following you and watching this particular video for THEE LONGEST and you inspired me to get all the materials needed to make a wig and...great news.. I made my first wig and it came out GREAT!! I've been getting nothing but compliments on it and some people even offered to pay me to make theirs lol. THANKS A MILLION!!!!
Thank you for sharing your technique. I've always wanted to make my own wigs since 2010 during my enrollment/before my class graduation while in cosmetology school. My teacher at the time didn't want to either teach us the full lace wig unit or the other teachers didn't know how to start/finish the lace unit technique and installation. I actually was taught by a few of my classmates who remain my friends since 2010 to rely on teaching me a few steps but I didn't have the courage to create my own wig....until now. If I can sew-in a very snug hair weave on my clients, I am pretty sure I can complete a full lace wig unit using the ventalate hair onto the lace technique to create a lace frontal wig unit or to complete a full lace wig unsing eith the full top lace cap or full Swiss lace to either construct a 360 lace frontal unit or applying a full Swiss lace to construct full lace wig unit via ventalating hair throughout the Swiss lace strand by hair strand, if it takes me a little over a week or 3 weeks, close to a month to complete. I have you to thank as well as other videos I've viewed, my friends and my collegues in the cosmetology industry and other men and women who have either paved the way for us licensed master stylists and those non-licensed hair stylists by taking the industry using the basics that's been used for decades & generations within the cosmetology field and taking it higher and to another level to continue with the educational opportunities for those who have either been within the hair industry for over 3 or more decades or for the younger generation who will take the wheel, travel and take the cosmetology world to higher dimensional designs and technology. I've been a stylists within the industry between 1985 and 1987; just only in Jr High during that time, but applying a relaxer to my family's hair while I was processing a Curly perm also known as a Jheri Curl a processing chemicals for a Leisure Curl to my classmates, friend's, associates and all their mothers' or doing a roller set for the elderly ladies at my church at that time inside my Mother's then boyfriend's sister salon every Thursday & Friday after school until 7 PM and all day on Saturdays from 8 AM until 7 PM. As the world opened its doors to not only braiding hair extensions but as new styles & fashion was changing in the process; but new beginnings & the introduction of what weaves & hair extensions have advanced to what we know it in TODAY'S generation, millennium & era! Industry sure has changed however remains the same when it comes to the women and also men pack up as they sit and WAIT patently for their favorite stylist chair in hair salons or the city's best barber on that side of town, in the barbershops to become available. With that being said, continue to keep up and travel with the industry and it's destination to bigger, better and higher levels as the stages with the hair trends will always be different and better than the last fashion statement and always be supportive of others who will teach us, and pass along the torch with advanced skills and excellent techniques of awesome talented individuals of today's forever growing field of Cosmetology & Barbering towards the eager to learn and better the tricks and the trades of the industry by the future generation whohas a new hair product they recently invented and anxious to share with the industry's greatest & growing healthy hair market, or found and wants to teach a new, hair styling technique within the Educational system of Cosmetology with what will soon be our future licensed Master Cosmetologists, talented, show stopping Barbers; as well as tomorrow's shampoo girls and stylists for years to come!!!! I am looking forward to constructing a new full lace or lace frontal wig unit as soon as next week. It maybe for myself or one of my clients or possibly I may establish a new client or re-establish and rekindle a previous relationship between myself and previous clients and start creating units as a hobby alongside my new hobby of photography; continuing on with my current career as an officer of security within The Correctional Incarceration Institution Facilities in the county I now reside in after my relocation from Florida. (My parents are from Guyana 🇬🇾 (South America & Jamaica 🇯🇲, having more than 2 jobs and having new business plans, developments & opportunities is literally in my DNA. Always thinking about my future finances and I always save up every dime as a part-time licensed stylist, an Avon & Mary Kay consultant and what soon will be both my hobby & new business development as an engagement/wedding photographer. I'm not 100% stable, however, I'm 80% ahead of my goals I set for myself at my current age....I just work entirely too much but my husband is very understanding and supportive in ALL my careers, jobs, current business opportunities & future business developments. ) Always remember: We ALL, as women should motivate one another and always be supportive of each other....if we don't share an encouraging word of positive motivativation or be an influential aspirations by giving her words of inspiration, admiration and wisdom to allow her to carry-on with her day, who are we as an individual not to? We ALL need inspiration in our lives, and sharing a few motivational words by uplifting spirits, hearts and mind is much better than passing negative energy of dislike, hatred, jealousy and envy of which I see/hear way too often by beautiful women towards beautiful women for apparently no reasonable explanation if we're all women of color or not, it isn't called for or worth having thoughts of negativity . If we don't have anything in common we can at least be a powerful tool to all women by influential aspirations. We never know what one may be going through why she isn't smiling. Her mom and her may not be on the best ofterms, her Dad & her may have gotten into an argument, the anniversary of a family member passing away may be near, worried about the safety of her teenage daughter or scared for her adult son and the rise in today's police brutality cases is at an all time record. She could've been late to work due to a flat tire or major vehicle malfunction and she's barley making ends meet. Hearing words of inspirational positivity is what she needs to hear that may have her frown turn upside down! #BeKind #Caring #Share #Love #InspireSomeone #GiveWordsOfInspirationalMotivation
This tutorial is perfect. I made my first wig (thanks to you!) & it was great - aside from the fact that the hair is crappy and my wig cap was too small for my head. I tried it in prior to putting the hair on the cap, but I recognize what I did wrong. I’m ready to try again!
My head is massive and store bought wigs hardly ever fit, I never thought I'd be able to order specific sized caps. thanks for the video and info. Your craft is BOMB girl!!!
Gave up making wigs 3 years ago after 2 or 3 failed attempts. This video inspired me to try again. I made my best wig to date thanks to this video. My only error is that I should've gotten a bigger wig cap size because one size does not fit all lol. I'm going to braid my hair underneath and add wig clips to fix the problem. Thanks for your video!
So I finally decided to make my first wig to do with the help of your how to bleach your lace closure and this video! 😍 Thank you so much. I’m not done yet though. Still have 2 more bundles to go.
OMG, YOU ARE SO ON POINT!!! CANNOT STOP WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS... I'M SO READY TO START MAKING A SEW IN...GREAT JOB...YOU SAID SOMETHING ABOUT SIZE, I DIDN'T GET THAT PART
THANK YOU for making such an easy to follow, beginner friendly tutorial! I am ordering this hair (because of you) and need that part 2 video a.s.a.p!! 😉 Thanks again!!!
I love this tutorial.. just curious How are you sewing the hair.. it looks like at the edges of it your sewing through the weft then it looks like your sewing around it not sure if that makes sense...
Chrissy, another video you had making a wig has inspired me. I'm determined to learn. I HAVE to. Could you please let me know exactly what the wig is standing on for it to be stable like a human. And also the head you have the cap on, where can I get that exact one? I'm ready to start.😭
Thank you so much! This would save me a lot of money by getting someone else to make the wig ! Now I can make my own . Can you do a video on how to make a bang with a lace closure ?
I have questions for you please reply 1. how do I know my cap size 2. what do u call that kind of needle 3. Can a straight needle be used or is it only those type u used to make your ..please reply I'm just a learner
I waited forever for this video 😍😍😍 Slayed as always. I made my first wig because of you and it's serving life . Amazing detail it makes it all soo easy to do
Does the mesh cap feel like the average net in a sew, or is it tight? Because I want to make a wig but sew it down and wear it weeks at a time. I guess I'm asking is it comfortable
You sure make this tempting to do ;) ! However, I'm as blonde as they come! Does this work out as well for very light hair ? And is is actually a money saver by the time you buy good hair, supplies, cap etc etc ? And is there a difference in how it's done for other types of longer wearing lace wigs that you can put up ?
I don’t know what I’m doing... I have a question : I have 28’ without weft ( JUST INDEPENDENTLY TIGHTEN INTO THE BUNDLES) to sew’em, how do I apply‘ em on my head, I do have bonding glue n Super bond remover , what do I do first?can I start apply right on my hair n how? PLEASE ANSWER,ASAP!
Great video! Its like I watch wig making videos but how do the tracks not show on the sides, or is it leave out to cover the tracks/lining of the wig??
Thank you! I really want to start making my own wigs (I’ve always wanted to, and i honestly need another hobby than smoking cigarettes. I need something productive to get my mind off of it) but anyway, just thinking about making my first wig is overwhelming asf 😰😰
Ive always sewn my wefts with the needle going under and over is there a particular reason why you do yours the opposite way ? Or does it not matter ? I've only done uparts tho is there a difference? I'm going to do a lace front for the first time
Chrissy boo! how did you put 2 pieces of thread through the needle like that? does the thread you bought come doubled like that? I hope I'm making sense with that question lol
Nora Beez🐝💜 depending on what type of wig cap you are using, if it's either the mesh or dome cap style they are right at the bottom. On the mesh it is the part that you are able to tighten you wig with by the band similar to a bra strap. On the dome cap it the thick outer layer that goes all the way around the wig. Measure your head for circumference to determine if your head is between 20-24 in circumference and it's easier to make the wig when you have a mannequin head the size of your actual head.
Thank you im on a budget and after buying hair im broke so im motivated to build my own wig already know how to sew my own hair so this is a next level for me,wish me well. Only problem is where do i get good quality hair.
This video helped me so much when I made my wig yesterday for my first time I think I did pretty good. The only problem I had was with the closure. For some reason I can't get it 100% flat and I ended up overprocessing the closure so it's shedding like crazy and balding. Any who thanks so much for the video !!!
Taejana Knight no you'll run out of space.. you should double weft the the first bundle & you might even wanna double weft part of the second.. depends on how big the canvas head is your using.. I only used 2 bundles & a closure with the first bundle double wefted.. my canvas head is 22in
Im kind of slow but at what point do you decide to go from one side to the next? first wig i made was a disaster >_< and kind of got lost after the nape area
