i dont know what did i do wrong but when i click game capture (resources) and select any game its just black. i tried recording to see if it was just on the preview, but i can hear the audio on the recording but the screen is just black. i tried with overwatch, ark, rainbow six siege and other games. HELP ME

I’m not sure why but the preview and game will play smooth but in the playback of the recording everything is choppy/laggy. I have an i7 4790k and a gtx 1080ti so I feel like this shouldn’t be an issue.
@RobbyThePsycho lol, go get some money yourself, just becouse he have a good pc with good specs doesnt mean hes rich, ha maybe have worked for that pc really hard and if you want a good pc too go ahead and work eat and sleep and keep on doing that till you have the money to buy it. Thanks so much! exactly what I needed! I dont make streams and most videos about OBS only go into detail for streaming. I don't know much about computers so this video was a real lifesaver. Never would have guessed to format the video and select processor n such.
I download and installed OBS, but when I click on the icon on desktop, it say : obs64.exe-System Error The program can't star because MSVCP 120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. I have tried reinstall(cleared all cookies) but it still show the same error, what should I do?
Go to your "Action Center" near the clock. Then follow steps below. Action Center > All Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced options > View Update History > Uninstall Updates. Then I uninstalled both Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributables.

What's a good software to use to edit videos recorded with obs to post to youtube or render etc. Also do you prefer obs or bandicam, like which do you think is better for recording? thanks

Great video Tropix. Thanks for teaching us how to set this beast up and use her. I was lost as I thought it was like Bandicam and you could just settup and screen capture. I can't wait to start making and editing with OBS. Also it's free to use everything opposed to the 10 minute limit to Bandicam unless you drop $40.
For some reason when I record and check the recording it's like 1 frame per 7 seconds or something so I'm confused. also everytime time I stop recording the video is cut out by like half the minutes I took when recording.
Just wanted to capture a quick clip I got in a game and I spent hours trying to get obs working and the results was 1 FPS videos. At that point I just gave up knowing I have the toaster of all toasters

I followed your settings and so far so good! I’m using a newer Mac with a i9 but when I start recording gameplay I’m using PS4 remote play with the PS4 camera and blue yeti connect to my PS4 USB will it all sync correctly?
Hey dude, I play Rainbow Six Siege, I have a pretty low-end PC (Spec wise) and with R6S, i run the game in windowed mode, does it matter if I record monitor or game?
so what if you plan on streaming and then using that for a video later? I would like to stream to RU-vid (from PS4), and was planning on having the video post private first. Then edit down loading screens, etc, then post the video as public once it's been edited. But I'd assume I'd need to have the video downloaded locally before I'd be able to edit and all that... So do I set up for streaming, or for recording?

So in the tutorial you said you use both Bandicam and OBS. Do you prefer one over the othere, and why? I currently have Bandicam, but don't like the watermark it puts so I have been looking for different screen capture software. Liked the video, thanks for the help.
thank you so much for showing us your settings. i had trouble replaying my recorded videos (they were all black) for some reason. Maybe the video setting was in flv? i dont know, but after switching to mp4 or pretty much following your settings... now i can replay my recorded videos! : )
hmmm hopefully you still have this channel, when I record with obs...what program should i use to open the file? don't want to use movie maker ,just wondering and which one is the best to use? would really appreciate the help! :)
Tropix, How do you add steam account on OBS? Everything worked great, except when I want t record game play, my screen stays black. I tried screen capture and it showed my screen. I have yet to get it to record a game. I have the same settings as you.
I am suffering from some major lags when I record my videos on 1920x1080, lowering the bitrate didn't seem to work? Do you have any alternative suggestions?

Can u not have diff settings for different scenes, cos if i was to record video game capture like a ps4/xbox one, then another for PC screen capture, different settings are required sometimes. ??
i7-7700hq @ 2.8 ghz can handle x264, right? Also is it really safe to use MP4 for raw recording data? Last time I checked MP4 can get messed up if ANYTHING disturbs it: like computer crashing, power outage or anything.
Hello this was a amazing video it helped me a lot with obs but it says that i cant get the videos to save and when i change the properties it show different and so what app can i use to download and save the videos that i record?
I know this vid is kinda old but I have a question. When I record, my videos seems blurry ( I use a friends recording settings ) does the blur go away when you render it with good settings? I have Sony vega pro 14 btw
