This ☝🏻 But I'd also add - it'd be best to do this and then sew the incorrectly died strip onto (and underneath) a strip that you died correctly (and would wear directly above this incorrectly died one). I'd sew it very much underneath the upper one's clips, so there may be no need to stitch-unpick the clips on the correctly died strip aswell. Sew this incorrectly died one in a staggered way, underneath, so the top part of the incorrectly died weft is sewn to the bottom part of the correctly died weft, I hope that makes sense. That way, you're making sure you're not adding double thickness to the whole double-weft so as not to create a 'step' in your hair when it's in. This is how I sew mine when I double up and it works wonders 🤍💙
