Beautiful song, great lesson 👍🏻. I've been a Gordon lightfoot fan almost forty years. Was saddened to here of his passing. He really was a lyrical wizard, the way he used the lyrics and told a story, probably the best songwriter that ever lived in my opinion. Great job subscribed 👏
Excellent lesson. Big time Gord fan and have not tried this song yet. Missing him a bunch. Thank you for your great tutorial. Time for me to get working on it.
Thanks for the lesson.....Gordon Light is one of the greatest songwriters ....!!! I also want to say U have a killer singing voice....sounds excellent....!!! Gos bless to you and your family....!!!
Yes I'm very familiar with Jon at MFG Great place to buy a Martin I've done business with them ! Love the Ambertone finish and the D41 has just enough bling ! Just bought a used one with natural finish
Great lesson although you might want to give a listen to the guitar line right after he sings the words "I'll tag along. I'm getting a bit different chord progression there. Thanks!
Nicely done. Plus I enjoyed your cover . Chords are beautiful sounding variations of standard ones Great Gordon Lightfoot song although not well known . I will add it to my other favorites Btw beautiful guitar - D41?
Jay, I'm a three cord strummer who is dying to get into finger guitar. I'm good at following your left hand but I'm having trouble with the pattern on your right. Can you please help with the sequence? Like you I don't read music - my wife is trying to teach me - and I find tab less than helpful. What do you use to learn all of this if you don't have those two usual sources?
Allan Sutton hi Allan! I can sympathize. I don’t read music or tabs. My right hand has a mind of its own.but there is a reason. I learned basic Travis picking 30 yrs ago. Specific patterns. They became so ingrained in my mind that now I don’t even think about them. Like Janes Taylor advises, learn the patterns the try to forget them! Anyway I’ll take a look at this when I get home and give you the reply you are looking for 😬
@@JDubs585 would it be possible for you to send me the video of the picking pattern? I know three of his songs but I want to make sure I am picking this one the right way. Thanks.
Robert Clary I’m sorry for taking so long to respond. I think I had the guitar tuned down for a different song and was too lazy to bring it back up to standard that day🙈
I wish you would explain the fingering and the number string you’re putting those fingers on instead of saying this and that. At least show some chord charts cause I cannot see where you’re placing your fingers you need to say place index finger on second St., third fret.
