I put one on my Altima cause intermittently when I would drive from Vegas to California in the summer my car would go into fail safe mode and it would lack power. I put an OEM one since I use to be a technician at Nissan. I drove to California a few more times after I installed it and confirmed that they do work in keeping the transmission fluid temp lower my car hasn’t gone into fail safe mode since I’ve put it on. Something to note also is that when I installed it I also serviced the Trans Fluid.

Why the manufacturer does not put cvt cooler? What is the problem that makes you think about cvt cooler ?

Yooo I live in Vegas too! And when I drive to Cali my shit goes to safe mode as well! That’s crazy how we have the same problem in the same city lol and the summer here makes it even worst, sometimes just driving to Henderson in the middle of the day would make my car go to safe mode it was so annoying

What kind of car and year do you have? these external cvt fluid coolers were made for certain a year. its always a good idea to scan your cars TCM (transmission control module) and see if ou have any codes sometimes it can just legit need a transmission depending on the codes stored.

I'm seriously considering this. Im stuck doing Trans fluid change every 10k miles because the car would start whining. Which eventually leads to the trans going into safe mode and i have to pull over. One question tho, why didnt you put the cooler with the openings facing down? Its funny how i thought about doing exactly this without prior knowledge that someone did this already. And first video i find is yours. Thank God for the internet and for you for making such a fine video.

Hey, hope this is working good for you and impressed that you thought to do it. You seem pretty young and young people they know anything about cars seems to be a rarity. I have an idea for you though. Id mount it vertically instead of horizontally or with your inlet and outlet facing the ground. The fluid will then fill from bottom to top and have less of a change for air pockets and bubbles created by the fluid coming in then falling in to the cooler(referred to as waterfalling). Its probably still better than it was after the system starts circulating well, but it maybe warming up alot more than it needs to upon start up since the fluid isnt bbeing kept under atleast gravity pressure going into your cooler. It maybe fine the way it is, just some thoughts.
@RotogripRocks
@RotogripRocks 4 года назад
Did you get this information fromthe other Altima cooler video? Where did you hear this from that it causes air bubbles? Hayden has a video of their cooler arranged horizontally. I would trust the creators more than some RU-vidr.
@DrDaddy-yg2ki
@DrDaddy-yg2ki 4 года назад
Been wrenching for over 25 years and pops was an ase certified mechanic for over 30 years. Not sure about any other youtubers videos, just thinking about how gravity works. Its not a "highpressure" system ,especially upon first startup, so if the fluid from the trans enters into the "top" of the cooler the fluid will "fall" through the cooler to the bottom. That could create turbulence/bubbles that could lead to fluid/cooling gaps. Id say by now if it were a bid deal youd know already. Just a thought

What all modifications do you have done to your altima? I have a 2011 2.5 S and ive always wanted to get into modifying it but everyone has always been discouraging towards the topic. I just saw the custom rims and heard how it sounded and its obviously modified in a couple ways. I suppose i am also going to look around some of your other videos to see if youve done any other tutorials on the altima.

@@carismasociety ahh. So not a lot of big performance upgrades. Theres not a whole lot of things that would be very practical to do on an altima i suppose, since its a front wheel drive about the only thing you could try and do is better your quarter mile time. Racing in an altima isnt very realistic unless its in a straight line race as ive noticed it loses a lot of power around corners and any kind of drift will be purely for show as youre essentially just sliding your rear end around. Ive just never really gotten inside an engine or worked on any big part on a car, and its something ive wanted to do for a bit. Money is really tight so im being very cautious of what i do as this is my day to day vehicle. Id like a car thats cheap, easy to modify, and preferably built for more racing practicality. Any ideas? I dont really have a big big car person in my life so i wouldnt even know how to pull an engine, which many people could do with any car just by looking at it. Honestly the cvt cooler will be the most in depth thing ive done to a car, so im definitely lacking a lot of experience. Although, im extremely intelligent and typically a video is enough to teach me most of what i need to know to do a project like this. But its things like putting a jack underneath the engine when you take the mount off (in your valve cover replacement video) that i would totally space if nobody told me that i had to do it. Theres a lot that i would like to do but dont have half the knowledge or skills to do. Ive wanted to swap for a bigger engine, maybe something like a 3.5 6 cylinder that you see in the SL models. Ive thought about a turbo or supercharger, but i dont even know which would be the better idea. Ive heard of changing out the crank and valves and stuff. Or even swapping for a lighter flywheel and higher performance clutch. Ive thought about trying some kind of obd2 performance chip but ive found so many mixed reviews that im not sure if it would be absolutely beneficial or an absolute waste of money. The next thing i was planning to do was putting on a cold air intake but nobody has been able to tell me if thats something i should do either. Im not really doing it for anything offical, really just for the experience and being able to drive a vehicle with a little real power for once. Although im sure theres no way i could know what "real power" is with a 4 cylinder engine anyways. If you have any tips or suggestions i would love to hear them!
@carismasociety
@carismasociety 4 года назад
@@aydenstacy9054 id honestly throw swapping out the window. It would be cheaper to just buy the 3.5L car instead. I forgot to mention I have a cold air intake and I've had a bully so tuner for it as well. Iv considered putting a lightweight pully on it, but it doesn't seem worth it mostly because of the CVT transmission (it has a rubber banding affect). Which basically means you'll always get a slow 0-60. Its definitely not the car you want to modify unless its the 3.5 with the manual transmission. I'm stopping modifications on the altima and saving up for a 370z. If you want a budget 4 seater car get an infiniti Q37

Did anyone have issues with leaks going in and out , what could it be from when I have everything connected? I’m the clamps not being tight enough or the hose not being far enough
@carismasociety
@carismasociety Год назад
If it's not too late or if this helps other people, it may be too loose or too tight. Both hose or the clamp. If the hose is too lose then it will create pinch in the hose when tightening. If the clamp is too lose it will leak, or if it's TOO tight it will damage the hose and leak.

I have an 04 Serena import. I put one on and it improved it. But it started leaking on connections. Pressure maybe high so I disconnected.
