Quick video on adding Carplay to your Range. I have tried a few of these systems and this seems to be the most "factory".
Unit (be sure to select Bosch or Harmon based on your system. The one in the video is Bosch) - amzn.to/3z9NOqC
Your dip switch codes will either be all "0", as in 00000000, or a combination of 0 and 1. If you have an L405 and get screen overlay when booting up the system (Carplay shows but so does all the normal nav stuff), then you'll need to try a different dip switch combo. The combos are as follows (00001000 worked for me):
00000000
00001000
10000000
10001000
11001000
As a reminder, set your audio to "AUX" and be sure to turn off the "back to home" as shown in the video. If you are on Carplay and Pandora isn't playing sound through your car, you probably have your Bluetooth on and its connected to the car. Disconnect the Bluetooth and the sound will now work normally through Carplay. After the first USB connection to the system, you shouldn't need to connect via USB anymore - the wireless works really well in my experience.

This is an Autobiography correct/ I have been looking at buying one of these actually. You seem like the perfect person to talk to before buying one.

Yup this is the AB. These L405s are great, this one has over 90k miles on it now with no big issues. I’m mostly up in WA state these days but shoot me a message and I can definitely give my 2c. They used this 5.0 drivetrain from 2010-2022, and I’ve had 3 of them- big fan.

@@GarageMaxedOut Wow shocked to see you getting one with over 90k miles. But I Imagine this being your third one now that you are pretty familiar with the AB's. Also surprised you up in WA. No more AZ?

Very cool… do you have any videos for Explorers

I don't have a video but will post the next one I do. The explorers are straight forward depending on the year, and the same install as the best vehicle ever built - the ford ranger. These are the ones I've installed for that vehicle - amzn.to/3RDUKTo

I Purchased, one of the units and the disappointing thing with it is the steering wheel control for for example say press the phone button and say text Louis it doesn’t work for carplay. It goes to the default Range Rover system, which is a pain in the butt.

What dip switch settings are you using?

I didn’t change any of the dip switches. I was on the Assumption that for if the screen wasn’t looking right. Is there a dip switch setting to change the Steering wheel control for voice control to go to the CarPlay?

2015 L405 V8 SC I tried changing the dip switches I turned 4,7, and 8 on still not working the voice button for CarPlay and skip track. After doing this I did read somewhere where you supposed to power it down for a couple of hours. Which I didn’t do. I Assume the voice button and skip track Steering wheel controls worked for you. Thanks
