Quick check, with the load balancer enabled in lightsail, how does the 2 instances get sync? For example, if I make a change in instance-1 (e.g. install a new plugin or modified php file), will the same changes be copied to instance-2 automatically? Please advise. Thx!
Well, as shown the database is shared however the wp-content/plugins and /themes are not, so you would install / update them on both instances. I do have a Load balanced setup tutorial using Percona and Unison, which does automatic syncs. You may want to check it out.
thanks for the tutorial, I have a question but it's not related to this video... so I haven't set any kind of database but when I snapshot my instance and try to upgrade it to the upper plan website is showing an error establishing a database connection, do you know how I can resolve that?
Not entirely sure, it could be many issues but check if mysql is running on your new instance. Try creating another instance from a new snapshot (maybe the snapshot is corrupted). best of luck.
Hey, you attached Static IP's to individual instances and then attached them to load balancer. So is it necessary? Won't it work on dynamic IP's as they are attached to a load balancer? I mean it's the job of load balancer to determine the instances.
I guess you can leave the server with dynamic IP; however the Static IP is included and if you want to connect directly to update plugins/theme files then it comes handy to have a static IP associated. If you want to SFTP or SSH then it is also better to keep it Static. Hope that helps.
Hello, I have watch many videos of yours already. I have a question here, I run a lightsail wordpress at 1gb ram plan. I used Quic.Cloud cdn with LS Cache setup. And my website is running just fine with my current traffic. But my question is this. What if I promote my website somewhere to get a huge spikes in traffic for a couple of days. Like 20k concurrent user . Will my CDN save me from my server going down? Or I need to upgrade my server to bigger plan? Or Should I setup a Load balancer? Please suggest me because the bigger size instance is not the best option for normal used, since my product doesnt make money all the time. My website is a woocommerce with around 10 digital products. and all my Digital files were hosted outside my server so there is no bandwidth usage from it.
CDN only caches static files, any dynamic functionality like ecommerce will not be done by the CDN. All websites are unique (# of plugins, type of theme etc) so to answer your questions, you probably need to do a load test with something like loader.io (I have a video tutorial on that). I can tell you that 1GB server in my experience is on the low end for Woocommerce based sites. Good luck!
@@MukeshsTechSpace the Quic.cloud server with LS Cache served static and dynamic content.. Thats what makes me confused more. I sure check more of your videos..thanks for reply
