Tutorial: Weaving Half Persian 4 in 1 - Fast & Easy

Ring sizes: From the M.A.I.L. website, they recommend using rings with an AR of no less than 4.7 for this weave. I've used 18 gauge (SWG) 1/4" rings & 16g 5/16" rings. Both of those sizes have worked well for me. 16g 1/4" (AR of ~4.1) didn't work.

I could kiss you. It took me hours to learn this weave the first time. I promptly didn't use it for several months and forgot how to make it. Went back to learn it, and wasted 3 fruitless hours. Finally gave up on it until I couldn't avoid it any more... found your tutorial on a quick search, and had a piece in less than 5 minutes. Thank you so much! Consider yourself +1 fan.

I know it will take practice, but this is one of the best tutorials I've ever viewed for chainmaille weaving. I love the fact that you used the big rings as it makes it a lot easier to actually see what you're doing and the placement of the rings. I subscribed to your channel based on this tutorial.......

Excellent tutorial - I'm a total newbie and I got it within 5 minutes: very methodical, and GREAT to present it from the viewpoint of the student. Your weaving skills are outstanding - only excelled by your ability to pass you skills to others: well done!

BEST TUTORIAL EVER! You have been such a huge help - I was busy using instructions that a client paid for and downloaded to try and help her, as she just couldn't get it. I was getting nowhere. So I turned to the 'net, and found lots of other instructions that made no sense. But yours made the light dawn on me, and 15 mins later, I am doing it perfectly! Thanks so much. Now I can go and teach my client, too.

OMG! I finally understand how to do this weave! I have been struggling. Using the really big rings is genius - I’d love to see you do more tutorials because of that! Also - you’re LEFT-HANDED! It’s so hard sometimes to visually flip tutorials with complicated weaves so it’s a huge bonus for me to see this done by a fellow lefty. Please make more videos!!!

Thank you for pointing out that this was left handed. As a righty I couldn't understand why the rings wouldn't twist the way I wanted them to.

I realize this was posted 10 years ago but I just have to say yours is the clearest video on Persian 4 in 1 weave. I have watched A LOT of Persian 4 in 1 vids and well suffice to say yours is the clearest and easiest to follow. THANK YOU! It is a beautiful weave but not easy and I am very happy to have found this vid!

the first time i saw this tutorial, i was able to learn it without even knowing how to do a persian 3 in 1, i understood this one quickly, and then, later, after not being able to successfully understand other tutorials on the persian 3 in 1, i come back and using this, i was able to understand it- what i’m trying to say is that this is an amazing tutorial! stellar job!

Upon first watching this I was I was like “it’s so annoying that this guy sounds really sure that I will eventually get this weave after watching this video cause I am a total idiot”. I racked my brain watching it months ago, couldn’t get it, and accepted failure. I came back watched it again and was like “hol up, I get it!” And it clicked. Of all the HP4 how to I’ve seen, this has the simplest, most straightforward approach-for me at least. Using the large rings to demo it was super helpful too! I can’t thank you enough man! 🖤⛓️

thank you, that really helped me a whole lot!! I like the fact that you used really big rings so that I could see what the hell you were doing!! Some tutorials on making maille and other intricate work, all you can see is the persons hands!! This was awesome!! Keep doing what you're doing!
@NiteSaiya
@NiteSaiya 3 года назад
I'm actually hating the big rings because you can't handle actual rings this way at all so we're just left to figure out on our own how to get several steps in without letting the rings fall out of order.
@mszoomy
@mszoomy 3 года назад
@@NiteSaiya but it's easier to see what he's doing without the person's hands or tools being in the way. How he holds them is irrelevant because we all hold our work and tools our own way, what's important is the weave/pattern of the rings. Once that clicks in your head its cake. At least it was for me. I tried 3 or 4 different methods from other videos and this is the only one that made sense to me, but that may just be because of how my brain sees it as a puzzle? I hope you find what works for you

It would be great if you could produce other tutorials for learning other weaves in your spare time, if you have any! That's great, and thank you! I'm glad the tutorial has been so helpful! To be honest, at this time I actually only know a handful of weaves - I've experimented with various anodized colors, metals and clasps more recently. For example Byzantine turns out awesome using stainless steel and nickel silver (an alloy - no actual silver in it though). What's good about it is how tough the stainless and the alloy are, and they're quite resistant to tarnishing too. I use the nickel silver for the 2 rings in the middle of each repeating pattern for Byzantine. All that being said, when I get back into making videos, I'll do my best to make good stuff :)

I find that its easier to start big (larger rings) larger rings are much easier to hold and then you can begin to down size (to smaller rings of desired size) b/c once your passed the initial portion in the beginning of the weave of trying to hold everything, not being able to set it down etc... its a breeze.... so I always keep a portion over what I will need as a starter for the next time.....( you can up-size or down-size from what you left off last time.) Hope this is helpful to someone :) Happy New Year everyone!!!! Stay Safe.
