"This show was recorded when Tuxedomoon were on their "Reunion tour" that brought them around the world (including Japan) in 1987-88. You'll find lots of details about this in the 476-page book I published last year about Tuxedomoon and entitled "Music For Vagabonds - The Tuxedomoon Chronicles"

"That drummer" as you say is Paul Zahl. Paul Zahl was a member of Tuxedomoon very early on, in San Francisco and the co-producer of the famous "No Tears" single, a single that owes a lot to him for its imaginative full-fledge drums.

A comment to the attention of the person who posted this video: this DOC tv show dates from March 24, 1988. So you were right about the year ;-) This show was recorded when Tuxedomoon were on their "Reunion tour" that brought them around the world (including Japan) in 1987-88. You'll find lots of details about this in the 476-page book I published last year about Tuxedomoon and entitled "Music For Vagabonds - The Tuxedomoon Chronicles"

A DOC ci sono passati tanti gruppi, alternativi e non. Ricordo un'altra puntata dove Stephen Brown suono' alcune canzoni di Tenco da solista. Tempi gloriosi.

the tv trasmissione was called International DOC Club with Gegè Telesforo (great scat jazz singer) and Monica Nannini (disappeared after that show)

gran gruppo! non credevo fossero abbastanza popolari in italia... ma DOC era un programma di rock alternativo?

Popolarissimi nel circuito alternativo, i loro concerti attiravano sempre molte persone. DOC un programma di Renzo Arbore portò il meglio della musica nazionale e internazionale con una qualità che se la sognavano in mezzo mondo! Detto da artisti internazionali abituati ad esibirsi negli show televisivi dal vivo! A DOC passarono da David Sylvian ai CCCP da James Brown ai Tuxedomoon! L'unico appunto è che andava in onda di primo pomeriggio e non tutti riuscivano a vederlo sopratutto se al lavoro! Io per fortuna lavoravo in casa 😃
