"Soma" is the greek word for "Body". Absolutely relative with the video above. The repeating words are recalling an ancient pagan ceremony or a black mass. The choir is reminiscent of the litanies in orthodox churches. A brilliant song, albeit a totally sick one.
yes you are probably right... in that sense, I think, Andrei Rublev by Tarkovsky has a very similar message but at least in Western Europe, torture and widespread religious fanaticisim are no more, even though it exists in other countries

ANY SECOND of Holy Wars is totally awesomely superior to this song. This is, to me, something they did one evening they were totally fucked (and I'm not moralist: I do the same) but nothing about their magnificent mastery in depicting mitteleuropean fascinations and traps. Indeed they all live in italy and belgium now.
