Even Bernard Cribbins can't sell Fray Bentos pies as non-abominations. I do like how the advert doesn't bother with any onscreen text or a voiceover or more than two camera positions. It just shows you the scenario and leaves. If only adverts these days were that polite.
The late Brian Glover of the "Allinson's bread wi' nowt taken owt" and "Tetley's make tea bags, make tea" advert fame was the voice of the toddler in the Persil advert. David "Diddy" Hamilton was the voiceover in the Kellogg's Super Noodles advert. I thought that Batchelors always made them, but I must be wrong. Bernard Cribbins plays the butcher in the Fray Bentos pies advert. I only find modern Tesco adverts depressing as the offers cost more now then they did when these adverts were made.
