Of course they do. They are servants of the state ensuring that an officer of the court can enact a warrant without fear of assault. Or at least that is the excuse. In reality they are ensuring that the warrant is served and goods are procured.
The BBC shouldn't be forced on anybody ! It takes nearly 12000 households in the uk paying a TV licence just to pay Gary linekers salary for hosting match of the day once a week , which is an utter piss take to be honest !
but us Brits love Gary. Well worth his money. Amazes me how upset people get about a company that pays excellent wages especially when everyone else is having to strike to get a decent wage. Obviously the BBC are well ahead of the rest.

It is insane but it is still legal to enter. Question is, how on Earth did he end up being found guilty in the first place? Either he let in a goon on a previous occasion or he said something he shouldn’t have said and it’s been used to get a warrant from a magistrate.
On it's own, using/owning a TV without a licence is not an offence. They have to get evidence that it is being used to receive live broadcasts, which is not easy for them to prove unless you tell them or let them in to inspect your particular setup.
I bought a TV in the UK once. Some time later I got a letter from the licencing authority saying I hadn't paid for a licence. I wrote back saying my landlord had one, which supposedly covered 3 TVs (at the time), so did I need one? Never heard another word about it.
L@@k give them a break....the BBC needs the money to pay celebrities like Linekar absurd salaries approaching £2,000,000. Per annum.... TV "license" is one of the biggest scams ever. Pure absurdity. They would make us pay for every single appliance and gadget in the house if they could.
Every non-BBC station is competing against stations that have no adverts and have to meet standards on impartiality etc or lose their funding. I no longer do the things that require one but when I did I had no problem paying for a license.

If I open the door by mistake to them, I use it as opportunity to moan about the BBC and do not give them any evidence, ask them for what evidence they already have, which will be nothing.
I graduated with a first in law and watched this from a legal perspective. The amount of people who do not understand what ‘implied right of access’ means is mind boggling. Once right of access is refused, it is no longer implied since it has been withdrawn. The withdrawal does not need to be in writing as some believe. Also, the guy with the ‘warrant’ OMG. Unless signed by a court then they can be refused access unless they have previously been granted access and the police officers in that instance need to brush up on their law. If anything, the guy with the warrant should have been arrested for using intimidation. Stating that the occupant will be arrested is intimidation when it is not true. Without a valid warrant of entry (the order to pay does not constitute warrant of entry unless issued by high court) he cannot force his way in. He needs to learn the definition of peaceful entry!
I apologise if this is a stupid question but since you graduated in law I was wondering if you could tell me if the private companies these bailiffs work for are even supposed to have this information about you in the first place? If they do surely the company people supposedly owe money to have breached data protection?
Exactly. Whenever anyone does that to me, I always politely remind them that they have approached me, and the protocol is for them to state who they are, and the purpose of their visit, or at the very least, who they are looking for. To just step into your space and ask who you are, is rude.
That's on you for opening the bloody door. First thing I do when I move to a new property is make myself unavailable by building a solid fence and gate that is hard to get through or over. You won't be able to get on my property let alone get in my front door.

So true I've never responded to them and when they come out (if they come) out I never open the door you have a right and they can't force you to pay a TV licence 🤣
I'v said this on every tv licencing video i'v ever watched, does my head in when they open the door and start spouting this drivel about invoking rights of access etc 😴 Just don't open the door to them, and if you do get caught unaware and open it all you need to say is sorry no tv in this property and close the door. That one where the guy was in the house and the 3 officers were there is what happens when you interact with them in the first place, the guy in white shirt clearly states that he's been found guilty of not having a licence whilst having a tv and watching tv which means at some point in the past the home owner has allowed access to his property for them to gather that information for the courts, since that event he has obviously started watching licencing goon videos on youtube and decided to film the next encounter except he had already made the error allowing access previously where they gathered the information they needed. He just got it all the wrong way around 😴 If this guy had stepped into my house giving me 5 seconds to move out the way before he storms in on my heavily pregnant wife he would have been wearing the tv as a necklace.
They're there to enforce the law. If one of those sides is the law and the other side is an ill-educated fkwit, who got caught being a naughty dumbass, then they can't help but take sides.
That's actually exactly what they were doing, to get to that stage, it would of gone to court and he would of ignored a bunch of warnings, in this case, the guy was in the wrong. Oh and I've not needed a TV license for about 15 years :)
What the hell has this got to do with the police? Nothing has changed since the sheriff of Nottingham and his tax collectors. STOP PAYING and NEVER answer your doors to goons with clipboards.
@@oddities-whatnot That may have been true in the past, not these days with so many streaming services, all the propaganda was what drove me away from watching live TV.
Actually, it was non payment of fines awarded by a court. It was a "Can't Pay, Won't Pay" issue not a TV licensing issue. You did watch the video where the guy says he's to collect a fine from a court case because he was found guilty of not having a TV license for a TV?
@@rubix4195 The fact of the matter is if it was awarded by a court, it would have been signed, the man's not wrong that a warrant must have a wet-ink signature by a judge, this then gives them the authority to act and If it does not have a wet-ink signature, you can ask them to leave. They have three police officers there that seem to think otherwise, which genuinely pisses me off because they're out there to enforce the law when they don't even know the basics of the law.
3 police or a tv license violation, WHAT!!!, I got burgled once and waited 2 days for the police to arrive. Thats some power the BBXC have got. It needs defunding.

Tv licences it’s a monopoly and I thought the government said there has to be fare trading as in BT we had to have an alternative so why can’t we opt out of BBC or use a different company.
Difference is a company like Netflix don’t need to come to your door to make sure you are not using there product without paying. It would be like me knocking on everyone’s doors that I suspect have got a tattoo from my studio and I just need to check they have payed
@@gregorybird7066 Stupid argument. You think a voluntary capital transaction for services is the same as a mandatory tax for, fairly well evidenced now, propaganda. This is insane. The UK police force really needs to get a grip and and prioritise crimes of importance. I had a laptop stolen from me and I had the guys address and they took 1 whole month to carry out an investigation. Had they shown up the next day the crook would've been arrested but they didn't listen to me. Stupid system
The police get bonuses based on how many arrests / crimes they’ve solved. So it makes sense that they’d prioritise easy cases rather than, you know, solving actual crimes.
It's all about extortion by a criminal organisation they call the government. Motorists will be only too familiar with this criminal organisation and it's methods of extortion. BTW, the word government actually means "control of the mind. " To govern = to control. Ment: from the Latin mentis. (as in mental) meaning: of the mind. They call it a free country, they are FOS, full stop.
@@homersimpson118 Unfortunately, that is very true: speeding crimes are one reason why police love to crack down on them because the case is usually easily to close. It would be better to actually have the police measured on the difference of reported crime committed in an area and the different types of crime rather than simply the number of cases solved. It's also why the police love these strange "non-criminal crimes" i.e. thought crimes where no one is a direct victim of the crime but there's a perceived risk of a potential victim or the victim is considered "harmed" mentally by the crime because they dislike someone's interpretation of an issue.
I can only imagine the absolute chaos that would be our nation if the police listened to every single twat and just took their word for it. YOU might be telling the truth this time, but how many morons, smack heads, bitter ex's, and all round bellends would send the police on wild goose chases for fuck all? people should not watch TV at all to be honest. Also no state should force people to pay for filth they are producing on TV. I think automatic tax to government or any private media is a crime and should not exist.
In Australia the national broadcaster ABC has been funded for decades through government grants to the tune of billions a year, which in turn are funded through general taxation.
Best policy is, if someone comes to your door and you don't want to talk to them, just don't answer, and specifically DON'T OPEN the door. Don't answer the door, don't engage. Asked ChatGPT. Yes, in the UK, a warrant to enter a property for the purpose of enforcing TV licensing regulations must be signed by a magistrate. TV Licensing inspectors can apply for a search warrant if they suspect that an unlicensed television is being used on the premises. The application for the warrant must demonstrate reasonable grounds for suspicion, and it is up to the magistrate to decide whether to grant the warrant based on the evidence presented. Without a magistrate's signature, the warrant is not valid, and entry cannot be legally forced.
It's a strange world we live in where not having a TV licence gets to a situation where a bailiff is coming to your house to distrain goods. The TV licence should be abolished

Warrant gives him legal right to enter the property and the occupant was found guilty in court already and hadn't paid a fine. Nobody is working anyone here, the bailiff is right however much of an asshole he is
@@ChildOfTheWilderness No it did not - the warrant CLEARLY stated he was only allowed into the property IF the person refused to pay the fine. At no point did he refuse to pay and was never formally asked to pay, before the bailiff forced entry. The Police should have made the Bailiff follow the warrant correctly and removed the Bailiff from the property. Then the Bailiff would ask for the payment of the fine. Only on refusal or if they cant pay - is he allowed to enter the property to remove goods. The footage alone is enough evidence to take the Bailiff to court because he actually states these things if you listen to him.

Ive seen the Jerry Weeks one before. He made two huge mistakes. Firstly, he didn't need to admit his name to the Police officer- he hadn't committed a crime, and secondly, when the bailiff refused to show him the paperwork "because you're not Jerry" that was another chance to shut the door. He continued to engage with them, and ultimately hung himself. He was seeking confirmation from the officers and bailiffs rather than being assertive and showing them that he knew what he was talking about. Bailiffs 'can' force entry for a court fine if they have the correct paperwork, so there's that. Good compilation.
