CobbTV Studios presents a drum cover of the song "Wolf Like Me" by the art-rock band TV On The Radio off of their 2006 album Return To Cookie Mountaint with Jaleel Bunton on the original drum track of the recording. This was a tricky one to nail because of the layering on the drum recording with some overdubbed percussion parts that need to come through to capture the feel.

Just wanted to drop in and thank you for all these videos. I picked up an electric kit about a year ago and have been playing with a few friends for the past few months, having never played any instrument before, and with the help of your videos (and a bit of practice) we just played our first gig at his Christmas party last week!

That one is definitely on the list. Unfortunately I have to be sensitive about when I can play drums where I live and I usually only have a 1 hour window and that one is gonna take some time to get it right but I definitely will do it 100% hope you stick around for it!

This is sick. Should teach us how to play these covers some time. Also do you ever have skins wear out? Assume you've just really dialed in keeping them tuned up to maximize their life expectancy lol.

Sure I can do some lessons on how to play some of the drum parts in these covers. The toms I haven’t had to replace since I bought them over 10 years ago. They are Remo coated emperors and they sound great. Sometimes the snare will go out but not in a while. I don’t hit as hard as I used to. I replace kick drum heads more than anything. Great cover as always! Not your usual genre but was listening to Hunter's Moon by Ghost and the drums have a weird feel to them. Not sure if you're familiar with it.

Hi Cobb, like your drumming is always so lighterly. 🧚‍♂️ As a beginner I have a question: how important is the weight of the Sticks? I have some of Hickory and I'm not sure if they are to heavy.

My preferred stick size is usually 5A but some models have a longer reach like the Buddy Rich pro model that I use a lot as well as the VicFirth 5A Extreme which I even did a video on where I talk about why I like them: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HkJqh-GzUkk.html

5A is average weight and the kind I use are also made of hickory. I like them because of the versatility.
