Let me tell you about karna properly. i will not say he is bad but not he is good either. some bad qualities some good qualities. but we cant compare him to pandvas. Also i think we symphatasize with him too much but we forgot the pandvas pain which is far more bigger because they won the war and not killed. Karan's Role in Draupadi's Vastraharan Karan is one of the key initiators of Draupadi's vastraharan. In several instances in the written Mahabharata, it is mentioned that he instigated Duryodhana to proceed with the humiliating act rather than stopping him. Many people talk about Karan's suffering, and while I acknowledge that he endured a lot, it’s important to consider that his suffering wasn’t greater than that of the Pandavas. Karan's Early Life From birth, Karan was cared for by his parents. Although they weren’t his biological parents, he did not know this, so it was a normal upbringing for him. The Sut caste is not a lower caste; it's a respected one. The discrimination Karan faced wasn't because of his caste but because he pursued roles and privileges reserved for the royal family, such as wanting to participate in activities exclusive to kshatriyas. One injustice done to him was during Draupadi's swayamvar, where he was barred from participating. However, in his prime, Karan was made the King of Anga and didn’t face any major issues for a significant period, around 10-15 years. His kavach and kundal were taken from him through trickery, but that was necessary because gods' divine elements were not meant to interfere in the war. He was part of the Varnavrat scheme (the plan to burn the Pandavas in the house of lac) rather than stopping it. He also took part in the unfair killing of Abhimanyu, where multiple warriors attacked a single person, violating the rules of warfare. Additionally, Karan was involved in many of the evil schemes of the Kauravas throughout the epic. His participation in these actions led to negative consequences, casting a shadow over his legacy. Karan's Learning Journey Initially, Karan studied under Guru Dronacharya, just like the other princes, and received education in warfare. However, due to his intense rivalry with Arjun, he desired to learn the Brahmastra, a celestial weapon, from Dronacharya. Guru Dronacharya refused to teach him this, possibly due to Karan’s growing animosity toward Arjun. Karan’s constant obsession with Arjun clouded his judgment and affected his relationship with Drona. Disillusioned, Karan left Dronacharya's tutelage and later sought training from Parshuram, lying about his lineage to be accepted as a student. Karan vs Pandavas' Suffering When comparing struggles, it’s clear the Pandavas suffered far more than Karan. From birth, they lived in the forest without their father. At the age of 10-12, they returned to Hastinapur, where they had to face Duryodhana and Shakuni's treacherous plans. After returning from their education, they encountered the Yuvraj controversy and were given Khandavprastha (a barren land) instead of a rightful kingdom. Yes, Karan was a "Danveer" and good-hearted at times, but his misdeeds, particularly his involvement in Draupadi's humiliation and participation in other immoral acts, played a significant role in his tragic end. This is why I find it hard to say that Karan's struggles were greater than those of the Pandavas. Karan vs Arjun The comparison between Karan and Arjun is often misunderstood. It's not just about who had divine weapons like Karan's kavach, kundal, and Vijay Dhanush or Arjun's divine weapons like Brahmastra and Pashupatastra. If we were to compare divine powers, Arjun, too, had many celestial weapons, including those from Indra, which could counter Karan's. In fact, against Brahmastra, Karan's kavach and kundal would be ineffective. Both Karan and Arjun were equals in terms of divine power, but divine weapons alone don't decide a warrior’s skill. For example, if Krishna had given Arjun his Sudarshan Chakra, it would render all comparisons meaningless. So, it’s better to compare them based on their archery skills. Archery Skills: When it comes to sheer skill in archery, Arjun was unmatched. He was known for his speed, precision, and ability to release arrows with incredible accuracy, which set him apart from other warriors like Bhishma, Dronacharya, and Karan. Despite the presence of many great warriors, Arjun was acknowledged as the greatest archer of his time by all big personalities of that time even gods for only these reasons.
