Definition of irony: by the time my family got our first color TV, all the American networks had stopped showing the "this program is in color" announcements (but NBC did hold on to the peacock maybe 2 more years, I think)

Everyone and their dog knows the NBC peacock, the “in living color” branding, and the NBC chimes. Even in 2021. It’s just something you grow up with in the United States. If you grew up in America, you’ve heard and seen all of those.
I know that American discovery. Also, my teacher, ms. Brzycka, remembers that, she was watching TV, which was located at common room (with rest of all school), when she was young (at 4th grade), which was propably of medium height. Today, althrough she has age around 65, she is still related with education.
The Maryland Center For Public Broadcasting premiered at 1101 St. Paul Street in Baltimore, with the famous "Spirograph" design. It has since been known as Maryland Public Television. The first station was WMPB Channel 67. At the time the country had NET (National Educational Television) as commercial free and cultural programming. MPT has since had stations in Annapolis, Frederick, Oakland and Owings Mills, where MPT is now located. NET became PBS on October, 22,1970.

I well remember the opening theme for "The National" on CBC. But by the late 70's, Knowlton Nash was the anchorman. And I would wonder if there was some kind of connection, since the name of the program and the name of the anchor were so close to each other.

@@belstar1128 it was interesting to go from the classic looking logos in the beginning of the decade to the more futuristic looking logos. It was a huge change
@@Bampire Yea in this video some of these logos look very old to me but others look like even during my childhood in the 90s they would have still looked current on a low budget tv show.

You don't get what the city label there means. it doesn't mean the country's capital, it means the corporate's HQ that's why you don't see "Washington D.C." in the United States that much, because companies choose to rather base themselves in New York City or somewhere near Hollywood
