The AMOUNTT of ppl in hear hating on the fact that she didnt end up chosing Stefan meanwhile im convinced they never understood anything. Damon was always the second choice, everyone went to him after Stefan. He spent almost 200 years fighting for Katherine just for him to find out she was alive and didnt care and when she did come back she admitted that she never loved him and exactly what elena is saying here that he was a liability. People hate Damon but his weakness was always that he loved deeper than everyone else.

How ironic is that I love how sarcastic Damon is. Even when he's just gotten his heart broken, he delivers a commentary on how he usually wouldn't be the caring one who gets overprotective instead of focusing on the plan. It's so self aware but the delivery isn't his regular snarky tone but a crushed soul kind of revelation

The problem is not elena. Thinking from elenas side she wanted to be useful for others but damon wanted her to be safe. They're both having 2 diff thought process we can't blame either of em. Later elena tells stefan that today i said something i didn't mean. We literalllyy cannot judge them especially elena who has been going through hell she as a girl is only making mistakes every teenager or a human normally do. She is someone who is ready to sacrifice herself by heart. In the show where we love monsters and evil charecters like kath, klaus, damon, stefan etc for their soft side we are no one to ever judge elena.

Isso, pq dias antes, tava perguntando onde Damon estava qdo Klaus pegou ela pra drenar seu sangue, qdo Damon saiu da cidade com Katherine pra saber pistas do pai do Klaus. E ele voltou e ainda salvou ela colocando a vida dele risco e ele prometeu que nunca mais a deixaria, mesmo não tendo nenhuma obrigação com ela. Daí ela vem e me solta uma dessas, dizendo que seu amor é um problema, acha só ruim de ser protegida, qdo ela tinha cobrado isso antes e está cumprindo o que ele prometeu. Eu definitivamente odeio essa personagem e parei de assistir no começo da 5 qdo ela começa a fazer Damon sofrer pela milésima vez.

If Elena hadn't meet Esther,she wouldn't be able to make the spell to kill all Originals which again Elena betrayed the entire group by telling Elijah that, Elena got kidnapped and Bonnie's mom got turned, Alarick was turned. It wasn't about forcing Elena. It was about Elena not listening to anyone's warnings and have common sense. Stefan gave her the choice and trusted her ability to make decisions. And she honored him by cheating on him. Stefan wasn't the problem. Damon wasn't the problem. Elena being too dumb and selfish was the problem.
