She was his first choice, every other male interest of Caroline’s had chosen someone over her at first and or some time during their relationship, he chose her. They should have been endgame. In their own way they were.

While it's not a competition, Candice is an absolute gem. They are both beautiful people (inside & out) but Candice had the advantage of much better script. Klaus was always attracted to women with strong character and women who challenged him and not just fell for his every word or gesture..Caroline was first..then Camille..Haley was a special bond cos although it was a one night thing she was mother of his child..All 3 had a part in bringing out some good in Klaus
