The Sound Of Perseverance. End of an era. RIP Chuck and Scott. Gene Hoglan was, imho, their best drummer but Richard Christy did an excellent job on this album as well as on tour for the following Live albums. TSoP also has the best cover of Painkiller with Chuck's rewritten solos. Now I have to go listen to the whole album. Shannon Hamm was the other guitarist on the album as well as Control Denied with Chuck. He unfortunately suffered a heart attack in 2009 and hasn't played since. Still alive though. He was good friends with Pantera's Abbott brothers, Dimebag once said that Hamm was the better shredder of the two, high praise.

Fun Fact: The opening track on TSoP is an awesome cover of Judas Priest's Painkiller (That's not the fact, well, it's A fact but...just hold on, I'm getting there), ahem...it's the only song out of every single Death tune from Scream Bloody Gore to TSoP where Chuck sings clean. True story.
