TVS ronin ownership experience and points of improvement - King Indian 

In my opinion, for people who would loved to do that extra stickering/ customer stickering/wrapping to the bike, then the basic model is the best choice. One can put some nice stripe on the tank, probably put sticker for the front shocks, also the large mud guard in the back, people can put vinyl cutting of their fav heroes.

Being a Mechanical engineer and a designer in automotive field, I have following observations. I was looking for a family bike for city rides mostly with a flat (horizontal seat), circular headlamp and retro-like + premium design (not like 100-150cc bikes). After exploring lot of bikes, I finalized three options to compare. 1. Honda H'ness 350 CC 2. Royal Enfield Hunter Rebel 350 CC 3. TVS Ronin 225 CC I test drove all 3 vehicles 2-3 times and following are my observations, 1. Honda H'ness 350 CC - *Pros* - Nice retro/classic look, Low end torque is good, Seating space for pillion rider is more than other two vehicles. *Cons* - Bulkier (Box size), Paint quality, Higher cost as compared to other two vehicles 2. Royal Enfield Hunter Rebel 350 CC - *Pros* - Beautiful Design/Styling/Look, Great color schemes, Turning radius is smaller than Ronin (Less space to turn the vehicle), Reasonable cost. *Cons* - The biggest issue (design flaw) is positioning of foot rest (pegs), just below the sitting position. This makes it difficult to keep your feet on ground while you are at signal or in slow moving traffic. Foot rest (pegs) keep touching your legs and is very uncomfortable. Another point is that seat on rear end tapers downward and seating space for pillion rider being less, pillion rider tend to move back and when you accelerate, pillion may feel like toppling/falling down at back side. So this is not safe and hence, back rest is MUST. Handle bar positioned in such a way that you need to keep your hands stretched straight all the times which is not a comfortable sitting posture. Low end torque/performance (2 & 3 gear) is sluggish due to bigger engine. (Not as good as smaller capacity bikes) 3. TVS Ronin 225 CC - *Pros* - Semi-retro look with circular headlamp, Driveability and Performance is superb. Handle bar position is very good for comfortable sitting posture with hands slightly bent in elbows. Very easy to handle in traffic. *Cons* - Very bad design/aesthetics of fuel tank (some odd shape), Color schemes are odd (not impressive), Turning radius is higher than Hunter (Needs larger space to turn the vehicle). Cost is on higher side for lower CC as compared to Hunter (mainly due to features). Overall, none of them is meeting my requirements (as mentioned above) and hence, I decided to wait for Kawasaki W175 or Yamaha XSR or Improved version of Royal Enfield Hunter. All the best! I agree with this gentleman, top variant should've come with all-black option (I'm also not a fan of golden forks) Personally, I don't like the colors offered in the top variant, and I need 2-channel ABS for safety, so I'm not buying Ronin this year

The POV(point of view)when you ride this bike is majestic, when you drive it you will feel like you are driving something huge,something grand,that handle design that headlight's top portion,that possitioning of the speedometer, those side mirrors and especially that big tank muscular huge design of that tank makes you feel like you are riding a big and majestic machine and that exhaust sound also plays a major role in enjoying the ride,that gives a confidence to the rider.both the POV and the EXHAUST sound combined makes a ride in this bike amazing❤

Happy with my Ronin drove 180km getting 40kms mileage in city

Ronin mono shocks is better which u don't see in other cruisers. Also slipper clutch is there with lever adjustment too

Colour wali baat jo boli na mere dil ki baat kehdi bhai. Black ka charm hi alag hai jo ki dual tone hone ki wajah se top varient me mujhe missing laga.

The only grouse that I have with this bike, is that if it had a ground clearance of 220mm it would have beaten the Himalayan, Yezdi Adventurer, and the Hero Xpulse pants down. Nevertheless, this bike effortlessly fills the much-needed bad-roader segment. I, for one, won't mind its ordinary Joe look, rather than the snazzier one. This bike has beaten my purchase decision for the Hero Expulse for good. Your vlog reinforces my decision furthermore, thanks for that!

Thanks for the review with existing customer. I am about to book one. I like the base version. But just thinking if dual channel abs is required. I don't want to spend 25k additional for other features of the top variant. 80% of my riding will be in city.

I wish the seat was a little longer and gears had heel shift. Little less plastic would have been better. Best feature is that it glides in traffic with 225 CC engine

Are there any chain noise issues? Also the meter console isn’t it confusing so many things in that small console?

Base model black good choice. TVS a Deming awardee for Quality and this one aspect sets them apart from other brands

2004V + H'ness. The RE Hunter is okay, but the thump is irritating + a lot of jerk in the bike + the worst part is the riding dynamics - wide handle with aggressive posture gives 0 comfort. Blindly go for Ronin. Super smooth + outstanding thump + premium parts + easiest control

who are going to use it as a daily commuter and weekend rides. 🔹Top speed 135+, Glide through traffic feature, 🔹very nimble to manuaver in day to day traffic 🔹super comfort, 🔹best riding posture, engine refinement, 🔹smooth & better gear box 🔹power to weight ratio is better than hunter 🔹slipper assist clutch 🔹Showa USD forks 🔹LEDs all around, hunter has bulbs 🔹Bass heavy exhaust note and best of all 40+ milage that will pay dividend in long run. In a nutshell Ronin is complete bike whereas Hunter feels like a downgraded 350 classic.

Ronin looks phenomenal on short riders but on 5'10" It looks TINY, they should add bigger tyres and a slightly bigger frame

It's not a bulky issue, it's the height issue with the mirror. Just lose the clutch screw and push the whole sent to the front. You view will increase. But still it's not best.

I've been thinking of buying this bike, but would also like to consider RE Hunter. The only thing that's bothering me is my build. I'm 5.11 and 106 kgs which one's best for me?

How much did you pay additional for accessories. In my city showroom ask 3000 Rs extra for accessories (saying mandatory accessories) for a new bike.

TVS Ronin fills the cost gap for me to buy a touring bike and simultaneously comfortable for my wife to sit for long run.

Good bike, value for money, but for me, i would love if the seating position is more sporty and alittle bit aggressive. Tail end also shouldn't have that fender and lastly 150mm rear tyre would make it more better..

The ride quality is good . Only demerit is unavailability of a proper backrest .

Thank you for nice review King Bhai and TVS ronin owner bhai. TVS rtr 200 is having quality problems out of showroom that was reported by many users. RE also has repeatedly changed Recharge rectifier unit for int 650, classic 350. Konsi co. is better for long term maintenance costs and durability??

I'm a non muscular 5.8 ft guy and bullets don't suits me, but most of the bikes in today's era to make it sporty and stylish have a very small pillion seat which wasn't the case a decade ago P.S: I still feel unicorn is my👍👍👍

Great choice.. best bike for older parents. Argonomics are good.. flat sit low sit height.. best for old people.. overall great family bike
