David Lawrence Abing who cares if he is used to be in the army! Rick was punched by tyreese twice and didn’t even fall on the floor he was on his knees. And he did one single blow on Arron knocking him out. Rick also punched tyreese once and Tyreese fell on the ground. If Abraham and Rick ran at each other ready to fight Rick would go savage on him. Abraham has weight and size advantage. But in strength and savage I’m giving it to Rick.
“... you’re not takin the bus...” The way Rick fearlessly delivers this line and walks over to Abraham for a fight against a much bigger dog after this intimidating pause is so incredibly badass.
In a straight up fist fight without weapons and only hands? I'd go with Abraham but Rick would've given him a damn good beating. If Rick of s5 fought dirty I'd bet Rick but it'd be close as hell. Merle vs Abraham would've been a hurricane.
It's crazy to see how hostile these two were to each other to then become friends and be a part of a family, take a look at how Rick looks at him here and then to see the sorrow when Negan takes him out. Truly an underrated friendship that should of had more scree time
oziel rico I disagree, the dude practically screams marine. I think it's fairly obvious that he's been in the military, not only from how he looks but how he carry's himself. Sort of like that one cop from the hospital recognized Rick to be a cop just from how he acted. Although yes, Negan also killed him from how he sat up defiantly, but I think he most certainly knew that he had some military experience, and that he was potentially the most dangerous person in Rick's group to Negan.
Didn’t even think about it, just fuck this shit And like another comment said Abraham could beat ricks ass in just a fight, but Rick can very easily kill him in a death battle
People are definitely underestimating Rick. This is the most crazy and badass Rick we have seen. I do think Abraham would win but Rick would give him one hell of a beating.
Noochie yeah and The Governor would do the same thing to Abraham mate. 😂 Governor would demolish Abraham mate. In hand to hand Rick would lose in a fight. But in strength and aggressive Rick takes it,
MR MBF Abraham is bigger and stronger than Rick plus he has military training. He’s got a higher chance of winning. Rick however, is more mentally unhinged and extreme than Abraham. So he’d be more likely to try anything to win.
Both alpha but yet both have a slight fear of one another. Did you notice how long it took Abe to muster the courage to challenge Rick with, "Try to stop me." then Rick's even longer hesitation to think it over until he comes at Abe
they were using the "power of silence", to inflict fear within their opponents by imagining how the other would react once he did. Abe used that way, then Rick did the same in order to convey the message "I'm giving you time to give up, since we're not enemies yet".
Dude the way Glenn shut Ol Rick's shit down with, "That's Not Your Call?" And what did Rick do? he backed off. Shows the respect Rick has for Glenn. Probably remembers he woulda nvr seen his family again if it wasn't for him
Glenn didn't do shit it's more like Rick respecting Glenn's choice and no if it wasn't for Morgan he would have never seen his face again I remember in S3 after Lori's death how glenn when in trying to help rick and how rick slammed him up against the wall and manhandled him
Really miss Glenn, he always had a plan no matter what situation, he had solution.. in season 7 if they didn't killed him, he would have plan to take negan down too... gonna miss you buddy in all out war.
@@flopchopslip12 Damn I kind wanna see season 5 Rick vs Beta. Beta would probably win, but man it would be hella cool to see Rick get some hits on Beta
This was TWD at it's absolute best. So many great characters and actors all on one room. Hard to believe most of them aren't in the show anymore. They have to make movies just to bring two characters back. Such a shame.
Yeah! This show had so much potential. If they prioritized character development over shock value then Andrew Lincoln and other actors would have gotten the recognition they deserve.
Funny. I swear everyone hated season 5 when it came out. Actually they hate every season as it airs, then years later… “this was when the show was at it’s peak.”
That’s actually a very good point. They really are trying to recruit each other recognising the other’s strength while also trying to kill one another for the same reason.
At 2:31 you can see that Rick is so smart, he knows he has no chance in a 1vs1 fight vs Abraham so he pulls out his gun to use it to puch him with it and potentially knock him out or make several damage, great continuity touch there, Rick never trully won a fight but you can always see that his animal spirit makes him win the fights buy using every tool he has at his disposal...
moraisgkm “rick never truly won a fight...” Uh... yeah he did. More than a few times. He beat Shane He beat Pete He subdued that guy from Alexandria who tried to overthrow him (forgot his name) Beat the two wolves in the RV (who ambushed him BTW) Beat Ethan at hilltop And these are just the fights where rick had no third party assistance.
Abraham had military combat training and experience as a former US army seargant, beat four men to death with a can of soup, practically threw the fight with Andy at hilltop because he was ready to die and thinking about Sasha, whereas if Abraham were trying he would've destroyed Andy, Glen sucker punched Abraham and if it went all the way Abraham would've folded Glen easily though Glen was a tough little bastard. However, Rick, not only a trained cop also survived nearly getting beaten to death by the Governor and ripped a man's throat out to save his son. The s5 Rick that was born from that point is a far more skilled fighter. In a fist fight with no weapons Abraham would win but Rick would've put up a damn good fight. If Rick fought dirty I'd bet on S5 Rick but it'd be close.
Exactly. Honestly understand now why abraham beat the shit out of him when he found out. The dude pretty much helped him look like an asshole who was going to leave Carol. Carol the woman who saved thier lives. I'd be pretty upset too.
@@stewiejag Eugene wouldn’t want to tell them there he wants Abraham to get him the hell out of that church and keep him safe from the cannibals hunting them.
Rick : You not taking the bus ! Abraham : Try to stop me ! *10 secondes of slience : Rick thinking am I going to fight ? ... ? Yes of course I am* Badass versus badass
This fight woulda been one of the most interesting in the show. Here’s why: Abraham woulda gone for the beatdown, but Rick woulda gone for the kill. Between these two, Rick’s the more mentally unstable one. Abraham resorts to muscle a lot but Rick is an ice-cold killer, especially here in Season 5. Good thing we didn’t have to find out tho. For sure Abe woulda beaten Rick senseless but Rick woulda killed him. He went right for the gun. “You’re not taking the bus.” He didn’t say that in a sane, “negotiative” way. He was saying, “I don’t care how big you are. You try to take that bus, you die.” If Rick killed Abe here, we wouldn’t have had all those awesome moments with him up until Season 7. He was still a fairly new character in this episode. Props to Glenn for stopping them. I miss all three of them now knowing what happened to Rick, Glenn and Abe, but the kid inside me still gets curious and excited to think of how the fight woulda played out haha.
it's all about looks is why everyone think's Abraham would win, it's because you never see rick without his shirt but rick is pretty buff if you ever seen him without his shirt, not as much as Abraham but he's not skinny as everyone think's he is
Yes and although he isn’t as big in mass he’s still tougher than most of the population alive. Willing to take a punch and throws harder than anyone out there
Clorax Bleach Good points, but this is season 5 Rick. Dude literally just bit one guys throat off and absolutely gutted another a couple episodes earlier. He was an absolute monster this season 😂
Imagine a Season 5 Shane being there! I could definitely see both Rick and Shane nodding to each other in unison and begin to approach the beast that Abraham is until we’ll Glenn breaks it up.
Haha yeah that'd be so badass, without a doubt the bond Shane and Rick had at the time if they were in this situation together they'd definitely do like a little head nod in unison and approach Abe together, I can only imagine how cool that would've been to see actually happen, gaurantee they would destroy Abe
Still one of my favorite scenes! Was just randomly thinking of the part where Rick tells Abraham “you’re not taking the bus…” love that moment of silence before Rick decides to charge in! And Abe handing his Gun to Rosita! I loved it when it aired and still do now. Here’s to the golden days of TWD
This Scene alone showed alot about the main group. Abraham is as much of an Alpha as Rick. Glen is definitely the heart of the group, he became the voice of reason and the moral compass just like his past father figures Dale and Hershel. Rick,Abraham and Daryl could've been the deadliest trio if they stayed together alot longer. Glen, Michone and Rosita are also a threat themselves. Maggie's loyalty to Glen is at a hundred percent here, she didn't question his decision on coming with Abes group. I miss this crew man.
*This is why it's important to have men like Glen in your group. Hotheads like Abe, Rick, and Shane are great in times of major threats from the outside, but when stuff on the inside heats up you need cooler heads to prevail*
Holy shit after that pause when Rick's walking towards Abe and Abe turn toward him you could tell someone wasn't gonna walk away Rick's got a more intimidating approach but Abe's was just heavy powerful rage filled, fuckin badass.
հokцƽ ρokus always? You mean once lol. And that was fight against Governor, in which let me explain you - Rick was shot in the leg by M-16 and Governor's hand was just scratched by rifle which was shot like from a really long distance, Governor also stepped onto the wound and that's what ended the fight. Doesn't really look like fair fight doesn't it? Other than that, Rick never really got his ass whooped, he was the one who was whooping ass.
Nehemie Mutebwa no it didn't just scratch him, in went through lol. Also, no, Rick wasn't losing before that, they were both on equal grounds but Governor headbutts him which send Rick to the ground because of the freaking bullet to his leg, and Governor adds salt to the wound almost literally by stomping on his wound and that's where fight ends. Fighting with one leg is much and much harder than with one hand, at least with one hand you can still keep your balance, you can't do that with wounded leg, especially if that hand was scratched by an old ass rifle that was shot from from like really long distance. Remember, Rick was shot when he was much closer to the fences.
Nehemie Mutebwa nah, I've watched that scene hundreds of times and bullet clearly went through as there is freaking hole in his leg. And even if it wasn't, it's still terrible to fight with wounded leg. And no, headbutts don't send you like three meters away and drop you to the ground, especially considering that Rick was punching the Governor and was at the same ground with him. Clearly headbutt sent him down because he couldn't balance his body because of his wound. Like come on now, try freaking fighting without both of your legs intact against dude who has wounded hand, I'm pretty sure dude would destroy you. Legs are extremely important during the fight, they keep you balanced and balance is everything, once you're down you're down for good and your opponent can just finish you. So yeah, unless Governor has a metal plate in his head I don't see Rick flying from his headbutt like that, headbutts can drop the opponent only if he is not in fighting position lol. Now I said that he was close to fence when Rick got shot, so yeah, he was still very close to fence, so what's the point? Try freaking comparing the distance from where Governor got shot against Rick, like come on now. And season 7 fight scene proves my point exactly, Rick was at the same position and was getting punched by huge dude, but he gets up easily by counterattacking. Like are you seriously going to tell me that it was fair fight after all these points? Like come on now man, this is ridiculous. And you are forgetting the fact that Rick was quickly getting up after headbutt but Governor stomps right away on his wound to avoid that from happening, yeah, clearly the fair fight.
Nehemie Mutebwa sorry, I meant season 8. And no, bullet scratches don't leave holes, they leave messier wound, his gunshot wound was just a hole in the leg. And yes, while Rick was fighting well, there weren't many movements involved, as they were both leaning on the bus one by one, once Governor headbutted him Rick flew away like couple of meters away, which once again wouldn't have happened to an experienced fighter who has his balance unless headbutt is clear and clean with no defenses, like in Shane fight where Shane countered and was holding his hands so that he wouldn't be able to defend himself and then headbutted him. In this fight though, Governor just quickly headbutted Rick while he was trying to hold Governor and Rick flew away as if he was hit by a tank lol. Look at all of Rick's fight, he always relies on movements as he is much smaller than his enemies usually, that's how he takes down dudes who are far bigger than him. Here his movements were limited, his emotions were compromised, his leg was fucked, his hand was still in pain after beating up Tyrese, he wasn't going out that much for like 6 month as he himself admits that he is a bit rusty in couple of previous episodes to Daryl. Once again, wounded leg is far bigger disadvantage than hand, and like come on now, are you putting your points on Governor's size? Like really? Rick held his own against freaking Shane, he defeated the huge ass dudes who were like two times taller than him, and he managed to beat up Tyrese easily even after getting punched over and over. And once again you're ridiculous jumping to fence argument, even though my point was that Rick got shot when he was closer to fence near governor's men, while Governor got shot like from distance that was 5 times further than that. So what's the point of bringing up bus if that's not my point at all? Im comparing the distance between two getting shot and the weapons, while you bringing up ridiculous point about him being near the bus which was still pretty damn close to the fence. And yes, Rick jumped on Governor, and we didn't see how he got out of there, so that's open to interpretations. But still, there were simply too many factors that don't make it a fair fight.
I don’t think people see that when Rick was walking towards Abraham he put his revolver in his hand. Rick was about to pistol whip and crack Abe’s skull. So, I think Rick would’ve won by (cheating) evening the playing field.
Antonio Martinez I disagree. I've seen the way rick fights. I think Rick would win hands down. Especially at this point. Ethier one could have won. There's no doubt in my mind he wouldn't give rick a run for his money. At the end of the day my boy rick would win. Even the actor that plays Abe said it would be a good fight. I do believe Abe is stronger but rick is quicker.
Chris Rambo Like his fight with Pete when all he really did was just scratch and roll around like a bunch of pussies that's the person your sticking up for
Y’all are sleeping on Glenn like he had no business breaking them up. Like Glenn was beaten by merel took it like a champ (pun intended) and took out a walker while tied to a chair like bro is bad ass
Vishal Sipley it would be fairly even because one is military one is police. Personally I think Abe would because he probably had more intense combat training
The governor is big, but Abe is bigger. Plus, Abe has been professionally trained to fight in the US Army. The Governor beat Rick at the prison because Rick had been shot and bleeding heavily out of his leg. Ask any martial artist, having a wounded leg is game over. Ask any medical pro, bleeding that much is game over.
This is rick in his prime. When it comes to it, I don´t think anybody could beat him at that time. Abraham would hurt Rick but he would kill Ab at the end
Rick would eventually win. At the end of the day, everyone there knew what Rick was capable of and were loyal to him. Rosita and Eugene would stay with Abraham, but there's no way anyone else would turn on Rick after everything that man has done for them.
I really hate how Abraham was killed off, he was truly the muscles of the group. The big man who has military experience would have mopped anyone down. Glenn was more heartbreaking, and painful to know these 2 died in the same scene.
@@LilC1deep I grew to like Negan, when you learn about his backstory you’ll know practically 2 people fighting for whats right. But I call bullshit he decide to kill another just because Daryl punched him. Like, why not just punch him back? Why kill another over it? As much as I hate Abraham being killed off, my hopes for Glenn surviving went up only for it to drop after Negan decide to kill another.
