The Real Viper I'd argue the governor had more of an affect on Rick than Negan.

Underpaid Plumber they all did but Negan completely destroyed Rick. He literally went from Rick to Reek in one episode. P.S. if you don’t get the Reek reference it’s from game of thrones.

The Real Viper Oh, I know Began snapped up Rick's balls. However the governor made Rick slightly less of a pushover and showed Rick how skewed the new world was. Negan definitely had an impact, just not as much as the governor in my opinion.

Underpaid Plumber I see what you’re saying about the governor’s impact on Rick but he had already become cold and heartless after what happened with Shane. He wasn’t a pushover until the first few episodes of season 4 but then again she wasn’t ready a pushover just a man who was tired of fighting since it was all he had done since the dead took over. He reminded me more of a retired cop during those episodes. The impact the Governor has on Rick is that he basically destroyed every fiber of humanity he had left and made him a ruthless survivor who didn’t take anymore risks or chances on people. But Rick had already shown that in season 3 with the prisoners since Shane had already taught him what needed to be doke in order to survive. All the Governor really did was confirm to Rick what Shane had taught him before, however, no one ever even came close to breaking Rick down as much as Negan did. Negan broke Rick completely, he took a fearless ruthless leader/warrior Rick and made him his own spineless coward bitch, I mean just look back at the first episode of season 7. Negan literally forced him into submission in the most cruel way, by commanding him to chop of his own son’s arm or witness the bashing of another of the group member’s head. He also kept reminding him about his failures when he made Rick go get the axe. Negan broke Rick more than any other villain had. All the other villains taught him lessons but Negan broke his will to keep on fighting and everything that made Rick the badass survivor he became throughout the show.
