I think saying he would get beat up also applies to recording this song as well. He knows that this song will probably get hate because it is not as philosophical and stuff, but he is willing to take on that hate for the sake of expressing his love for his wife. So recording the song itself is like stepping up to a "bigger man" which is music community.

I liked the song and love your explanation, as always. "Working for the votes got me so confused" . I love when artists mention songwriting in their songs. I love metatextuality in all forms, and im really pleased when I see that in pop culture. Taylor does it a lot ("Hey, Stephen", "Our song", leaked "Writing songs about you", leaked "Who I ve always been", for ex). And Ed Sheeran does it too ("Eareser", "What do I know" and the incredibly deep "Save my self", and even "Love your self" for ex."). Also Harry Styles does it sometimes (In 1D´S "Perfect" he goes "If you are looking for someone to write your breakup songs about, baby, Im perfect", and I love the line from his "Carolina" where he goes "I meet her once and wrote a song about her"). There´s also Kelsea Bellerini´s "I hate love songs". Maybe you could do a video on metatextuality and examples in songs. That would be great!

I finished the album and I must say it was worth the wait.

Thank you for explaining this! I missed a very important line in this song because every time I heard it I was like that saying oh no not a another love song, come on Tyler you're better than that. But I didn't think well ok just because everyone else writes love songs for their wives and stuff doesn't mean that Tyler should do one. And now even more so I like that he actually was being aware of it when writing the song! He really is a music genius, have so much respect for him!

i just did some research and I am now convinced that the line, “weigh 153” has a deeper meaning. It turns out that the number 153 has some significance in the Bible. First of all, 153 is the sum of the first 17 integers. 7 represents the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit, and 10 comes from the Ten Commandments. Not only that, but the term, tetragrammaton or the four letter address to God (YHWH which means “God of Israel”) occurs 153 times in the book of Genesis. I am not sure how this could tie in with the meaning of the song, but I feel as though Tyler didn’t just choose a random number. Instead, I think he chose one with more significance.

My perspective on Tyler writing about Jenna (or on his family in general) is that is not just a silly love song, it's actually Tyler being even more vulnerable than when he talks about deeper stuff because in this case he's not only talking about himself or about the fans, he's talking about his relationship with somebody else which is even more personal in my opinion, so i get all emotional hearing songs like that 😂 but in a joyful way 😊

I really don't know what "I got your six while you're working votes" means exactly, only that by "i got your six" he's saying he'll protect her. And also, by "they think it's messed up to sell out for your girl", i first tought that this is about the people that don't give enough value to the person they're with. Like, when they're already with them. They want to have someone and then when they have the person they don't think there's need to show their love for them(wich is completely dumb and if it's like that u don't really like them). Making a song about the person you're with is one of the many ways of demonstrating love and care about her, and I guess Tyler did that for he writes about what is important to him. But of course, can also be what u suggested, makes sense ^^

My face still hurts from smiling over this song! I mean it may just be because the whole album made me smile and cry, but this song literally hurts my cheeks 😂💛🖤
